How are you spending your lockdown? Some of us might still be working, whilst some of us are trying to keep the kids entertained (which is arguably a full-time job in itself!). Some of us have moved our offices to our homes whilst others have been furloughed.
For those who aren’t working and don’t have a lot of other responsibilities, this might mean that you have a lot of free time on your hands! Some people are using this time to rest whilst others are rediscovering hobbies or working on their talents.
However, there’s one particular lockdown activity that we especially like the sound of: crocheting tiny couches for cats.
Yep, you read that right. There are actually people in the world who are crocheting tiny couches for their cats right now, as we speak.
The idea became popular on crocheting communities, such as the ones on Reddit, and proud owners of kitties began to share their own creations for the world to see. However, this isn’t a totally new concept, as some of these pics date back to 2009!

We love the fact that this couch comes with its own little crochet blanket draped over the top. Talk about paying attention to detail!
The talented creator posted this pic onto Reddit with the caption: ‘It took 4 months but it finally happened! My cat actually sat in the sofa I crocheted for her,’ and we’re so glad that he did. Imagine your kitty never sitting on his couch after all the hard work you put in!
This couch is simpler and is targeted towards the modern, understated cat. We’re loving the addition of the fur rug and the way this little kitty is stretched out so contentedly on her couch. That’s one happy customer right there!
Speaking about their design, the creator said: ‘Skipped the pillows and the ruffle because she’s a modern girl. Added a reptile heating pad that has a thermostat in the cord. The payoff is definitely worth the effort, this is her favorite spot in the house.’
It’s no wonder the kitty is so happy if there’s a heating pad in there! Now that’s what we call luxury.
This little cat is adorably named Cookie Dough, and he seems to agree that this couch is the perfect fit for him! The owner shared the cute pic on Reddit with the caption: ‘Kitty couch finished! I think that Cookie Dough approves.’ We think that he does too.
The owners of this sweet furbaby didn’t think that he would be up for sitting on the completed couch, but amazingly he seemed to take to it straight away! The owner said: ‘When I woke up the next morning, he had already found it!’
This spoiled kitty is absolutely living his best life as he relaxes on his very own couch. He looks like he’s ready to crack open a can of beer and stick a footie match on. What a comfortable looking couch!
It’s amazing the way people’s talents are growing during lockdown, and we’re loving that people are sharing their pics for everyone to see. We can imagine that there are some very spoiled pets right now!
