Our pets are like our children, and we do almost the same things to them as we would for a child.
We buy them toys, give them occasional treats, train them to be good boys and girls, and even dress them up for Halloween.
We can do these things with both kids and pets, right?
But one of the sweetest gestures is to sing your puppy to sleep.
Country star Brett Eldredge captured everyone’s hearts when he sang to his dog.
Brett adopted Edgar in 2016, and people immediately fell in love with their bond.
The country singer has given his social media followers a glimpse of what a great dog-dad he was, and one of the best things he did was to sing his dearest pup a lullaby.
In this viral video, he sang “You Are My Sunshine” to his lovely pooch.
It was an adorable moment for Brett to sing a simple song that most parents would sing to their children, especially when putting them to sleep.
He was doing the same to Edgar as the Weimaraner/Vizsla mix looked so sleepy in his arms.
Edgar soon fell asleep in Brett’s arms when he finished the song.
We couldn’t help but gush over this moment.
People loved this video because it was very relatable.
Others said they do the same to their dogs and how they would always fall asleep, while others reminisced that their grandparents or parents sang the same song to put them to sleep.
The country singer has done this many times, like when he sang “Make You Feel My Love” for dear Edgar.

It was such an endearing moment to see the bond between these two as Brett strummed his guitar and sang the tune while Edgar was fast asleep beside him.
Watching it somehow relieves your stress, right?
We could all agree that Brett wins many dog-dad points for doing things – and more!
His fans also witnessed how he would Edgar to his shows and perform simple tricks or sing to him in front of the crowd. ‘He also shot a “The Edgar Cut” version of his music video for “Love Someone,” and we can tell that his fur baby has much star potential.
Of course, it’s mandatory that he give him treats for that!
Brett also created the now-deleted Instagram page for Edgar, showing their shenanigans.
It used to show their bonding moments and other silly and fun stuff Brett and Edgar did together.
However, Brett decided to “retire” his dog from the limelight so they could enjoy the same activities minus the attention from the people.
Aw, what a great dog-dad he really is!
Brett assured the public that Edgar was 100% doing well.
The people speculated that there was something wrong going on with Edgar because Brett deleted his Instagram account, but he said in an interview on The Bobby Bones Show:
“He’s at home. He retired from the spotlight,” he said. “I don’t want to have an influencer dog anymore. I just want to spend time with him all the time,” he added.
