If you’re a dog lover, there’s an excellent chance you spend your fair share of time looking at photos and videos online. And we don’t blame you. Considering that pups are funny, ornery, and sometimes, naughty, there’s plenty to see.
Throughout a dog’s life, people capture all kinds of “moments.” Often, these have something to do with eating. Did you see the video of the puppy whose hind legs came off the ground when he ate? Or the one involving three puppies that scramble to their food bowl so fast, kibbles go flying everywhere?
Well, here’s another one you can add to your collection of favorites. In this video, a sweet Corgi named Willo does something quite strange during mealtime.
The Corgi
While a favorite breed in Europe, the Corgi has become increasingly more popular throughout North America. These dogs are known for their playfulness. They’re also smart, loyal, and happy. But they have another side to them that owners soon discover…they’re often mischievous. That point was proven in a video of a Corgi whenever she ate.
Had to share with the world
Finding this pup’s behavior quite funny, her owner decided to capture a video to share with others online. It starts with Willo heading to her food dish. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. Then, she takes a bite. Again, everything appears normal. But then things change.
Wait for it
All of a sudden, she lets out the cutest howl every time she finishes eating a mouthful of food. Proudly, she raises her little head high and roars, so to speak. It’s not like Willo waits until she’s finished her entire meal. No, this happens after almost every bite. It’s too adorable for words.
Capturing the action from different angles
To help viewers get the full effect of what this pup does, her owner captures video shots from various angles. At one point, she lets out a howl and then looks straight at the camera. What makes this even cuter is that sometimes, her howl is bold and loud while other times, it’s more of a quiet, half-howl.
It started when she was young
According to the owner, she first noticed her Corgi howling at about three to four months old. The first time it happened was during breakfast. Initially, this mom thought her pup was in trouble, perhaps choking. But as Willo continued eating, followed by a howl, the owner realized this was nothing more than a quirky personality trait.
She’s still doing it
Now as an adult, this precious pup is still howling whenever she eats. While no one’s sure why she does this, posters have some opinions on the topic. One person wrote, “Her wolf instinct is showing. What’s happened is she’s calling her pack because she found food.” Another individual had a funnier response, “I knew I wasn’t the only one who howls when eating.”
Unconditional love
Regardless of her strange habit, this pup’s mom loves her just as she is. The owner explained that her pet sits quietly while she prepares her meals. Then once she places the bowls on the floor, the howling begins usually after the first bite. This mom believes her furry friend is simply thanking her for providing healthy and delicious food.
But Willo has another unique trait. Unless she’s the center of mom’s attention, she whines. Let’s just say this is one adorable and spoiled dog. Just the way it should be. Check out the video below to see Willo and hear her howl.
