A distressing call about a kitten being thrown from a car window led to an unexpected and heartwarming bond.
Officer Timothy Rugg of the Harrisonburg Police Department in Virginia found himself becoming the proud foster parent of Penny-Furthing, an energetic calico kitten.

Recounting the moment, Timothy said, “A cat had been thrown out of the window on Old Furnace Road, and I found Penny underneath the couch. She was super scared, but when I picked her up, she just climbed right up to my shoulder, started purring, and just wouldn’t let go. I knew instantly that Penny and I would be together forever.”

After rescuing Penny, Officer Timothy took her to the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA.
However, upon discovering that the shelter was full, he couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her behind.
