The only thing cuter than an otter eating salmon at a table is two otters eating salmon at a table.
Hana and Kotaro, two Asian small-clawed otters, are internet famous and for good reason.
The pair are just too adorable to take your eyes off of and their antics are hilariously clever. With over 13 million views, their ‘salmon snacking’ video is just what we all need to see right now.
In a video posted by their owner, Hana gets a break from her diet and joins Kotaro for a salmon snack.
The owner writes in the video that Hana was put on a diet because she was a little too chubby.
She happily frolics and squeals at the sight of her salmon.
“Hana is on a diet so I haven’t given her any salmon for a while.”
It’s pretty obvious right off the bat why Hana was put on her diet. The look of absolute bliss on Hana’s face is evidence of her healthy appetite.
“But since she lost some weight, she gets a cheat day!”
The video shows the two otters sitting at a table awaiting their treat.
The owner narrates the exchange between Kotaro and Hana. For Hana, they write “It’s all mine,” with Kotaro responding with “Seriously?”
Hana devours the salmon in seconds while Kotaro takes his time savoring each morsel.
After she manages to finish first each and every time, Hana lets out a sad, sympathy-seeking squeal. Kotaro still has lots of salmon and Hana jumps at the chance to snag some.
Before she can get too greedy, their snack time is over. Hana is not a happy otter.
Lunchtime comes along and the otters are at the table again.
Kotaro is thoroughly enjoying his salmon and is holding it up and letting it fall into his mouth. He grips one piece in his tiny hand to keep it safe from Hana.
Kotaro is so happy eating the salmon that he doesn’t even realize Hana is nearly finished with her meal.
“Oops, Hana is almost done!” – the owner hilariously warns Kotaro.
Hana finishes her salmon in record time and races across the table to grab Kotaro’s food. Thankfully the owner snatches it away just in time.
Hana is once again across the table looking for food and the owner asks “Do you want to get fat again?”
To let the otters know that she has no more snacks for them, she puts her hand up as if to wave goodbye. The otters get the hint and slink off the table awaiting their next delicious treat.
In another video posted to YouTube by the owners, Hana celebrates her birthday with a conveyer belt ‘sushi’ surprise.
Viewers online shared their love for Hana and Kotaro.
