When you think of a Chihuahua…what comes to mind? A tiny, cuddly, adorable, pocket-sized pooch, right?
Chihuahuas are truly a high personality breed. They’re wonderfully charismatic and unique in many ways. For this reason, they can often be chosen as “purse dogs”, especially because of their tiny size. They are rambunctious and make up for their small size with their larger-than-life personalities. They also make great watchdogs because they are quick to yap and are often highly strung.
This also means that when they decide it’s time to have fun, you will know about it.
That was the case with this sleepy American bulldog who was just trying to relax.
Unfortunately, not all dog breeds can match the energy levels of the infamous chihuahua.
Contrasting the high-energy antics of a chihuahua is the level-headed reliability of an American bulldog.
Dogtime.com describes them as a great breed for the home.
“American Bulldogs are intelligent and affectionate, which makes them great, protective family dogs”
This particular bulldog, however, is about to have his patience tested by its exact opposite: an energetic chihuahua. But not just any chihuahua…a puppy. That’s twice the energy for the price of one!
Now that’s a test of patience!
All this big dog wants to do is snooze on the floor in peace, but this mini-huahua is far too full of life to let him do that in peace. While he was trying to rest his weary head, this high-octane pupper is more interested in tugging on its tail and trying to get its attention.
Well, eventually the pup gets that attention!
All this bite-sized dog wants to do is play, and there is no time in its busy antics schedule to just lounge around.
While this bulldog is granting the pup a little bit of attention, it would still obviously rather mind its own business.
At least it has stopped biting the bulldog’s tail and is now resorting to playfully tapping it with its paw. Now if that’s not adorable, I don’t know what is!
And even if this bulldog wanted to rest its head, the puppy would not let that happen.
Before long the puppy gets all up in its face…literally! Imagine trying to sleep, but an energetic puppy won’t stop smothering you. I guess anyone who’s ever owned a chihuahua would know that pain!
Sooner or later, however…the big ol’ bulldog joins in the game.
As it turns out…the puppy is not the only one who can share the fun! With playful nibbles, Big Dog is able to give it as well as it can take it. Whatcha going to do now, puppy? There is a distinct moment when you can see that the tables have turned, and now, this little chihuahua is going to have to keep up.
They say to let sleeping dogs lie, but nobody told this little chihuahua that!
The good news is, because of the bulldog’s admirable patience, they ended up in a chummy game of nips and nibbles. Typical dog fun. While the pup may at times get on the bulldog’s nerves, they’re sure to be the best of friends in the future.
