Nelly and Gilbert are a beautiful pair of cats living in Copenhagen, Denmark. And their Instagram following of over three-quarters-of-a-million people (or “hoomans,” as they would say) is a testament to just how adorable and funny they are.

Nelly is a 4-year-old Birman/Ragdoll cat (and totally fluffball) while Gilbert is a beautiful, majestic Bengal.
The pair have been joined recently by a rescue cat named Nala, who is just a year old.
As you can see, life is pretty great for these gorgeous creatures.

Of course, that’s not what they would tell you.
As we all know, cats feel nothing but tortured by humans unless they’re actively being fed or paid attention. And what can we say, sometimes we have to work.
But this is not always acceptable to them.

Now, in case you haven’t guessed, Nelly is the Queen of the house. As the eldest and most fluffy, she is not afraid to ask for what she wants.
Judging from the videos on the family’s Instagram and YouTube pages, she’s quite a character!
And while she’s quite amusing on her own, the captions her mom adds to her videos are nothing short of hilarious.

If you need more proof of this, we just watched 3 minutes of cats meowing FOR THE PLOT.
3 MINUTES!
And we’re not even embarrassed about it because it was just the laugh we needed.
This particular video was recorded back in 2019 (ah, such innocent times!). It stars Nelly and Gilbert but is mostly comprised of Nelly telling the story of her awful day and demanding restitution.
It all begins with an accusation.
Gilbert denies the whole thing, of course.
But is Gilbert gaslighting Nelly? Or is he really as naughty as she says?
This calls for a thorough investigation, and we’re sure one took place.
But we can’t help thinking that Nelly might just be in this for the food.
But the accusations keep on coming – and it appears Nelly has a punishment in mind.
It turns out she’s not just any big sister – she’s the kind that wants her brother to suffer for his perceived misdeeds.
But Gilbert isn’t the kind of cat to just sit there and take it.
He will fight for his honor.
It’s his word against hers. But who to believe?
Now, it turns out there is some evidence that Gilbert might not be the innocent cat he claims to be. No cat is.
But clearly Nelly knows how to set things up so everything falls on her little brother.
For example:
Oops.
Well, Nelly just happens to have that little piece of evidence.
But she may have gone too far in her desire to be rewarded for her tattling.
Frankly, we’re skeptical.
Now, there’s a whole farting incident and some other back and forth that you have to see for yourself, but it’s clear these cats love meowing at their mom. And it’s a good thing she has a sense of humor about it!
But seriously, how could you not just adore these kittos – even when they’re being naughty?

As it turns out, no matter where Nelly is, as long as she’s awake she’s hungry.
Wait, make that HANGRY. Turns out that’s just part of her charm.
Will Nelly eat? Will Nelly faint? Only one person knows.
But she does live to meow another day, thank goodness.
