Simon is an adorable cat with a mom who loves him more than anything in the world.
One day, Simon’s mom, Mackenzie Coffman, noticed her cat staring out the window longingly. Coffman went to check out what he was looking at and saw another cat looking back at from her neighbor’s apartment.
As the day went by, Simon continued staring out the window towards the neighbor cat. The neighbor cat didn’t seem to notice Simon, so Coffman decided to take matters into her own hands.
Coffman wrote out a note and stuck it on her window. The note said:
‘What is your cat’s name? Love, Simon’
Soon after that, Coffman’s neighbor wrote a heartwarming message back. It said:
‘Hi Simon, I’m Theo. Your my best friend.’
Coffman loved this note, and she decided to post about Simon and Theo’s burgeoning friendship on her Twitter page. The tweet quickly went viral—everyone loved seeing Simon and Theo interact.

Simon and Coffman were both amazed to see their tweet going viral. They decided to share the news with Theo and his mom.
Theo and his mom quickly wrote back—they were so excited to hear that they had become internet sensations. Theo also apologized for the grammatical error in his first sign:
‘Sorry for the spelling error. After all, I’m a cat.’
Coffman added Theo’s mom on Twitter, and the two of them began talking. They decided to arrange a date for their two cats. Coffman posted the news on Twitter, and everyone waited with bated breath to see how the date would go.
Coffman started a new Twitter thread where she posted updates about the date. Theo and his mom went to Coffman’s apartment, which didn’t end up working out; Theo was about being nervous in a new environment.
“Update: Simon is following Theo around like a puppy, Theo is a little nervous as cats can be in a new environment,” Coffman wrote on Twitter.
Coffman decided to bring Simon over to Theo’s apartment, and this ended up working out much better! Theo and Simon were both much more relaxed, and the two quickly hit it off.
“We think it went as well as it can with cats! Only a couple hisses, no fights, and lots of butt-sniffs. Thank u all for following along!” Coffman wrote.

Coffman and Theo’s mom plan to arrange more playdates in the future—it’s clear that these two cats love each other! If you want to see more photos of Simon and Theo, check out their Twitter pages.
