Cats are grumpy and a lot of cat parents can attest to that. However, despite their mood swings and annoying temperament, cats are loyal animals.
They demonstrate “secure attachment” that’s often seen in human infants and dogs. With this kind of attachment, cats become more relaxed whenever their humans are around- even if placed in a novel environment. This supports the idea that cats can also form deep social bonds with their humans.
As examples, here are 30 cats showing their loyalty to their favorite humans.
1. Just in love
That’s the look fo someone who’s clearly and deeply in love. For this cat’s eyes, his human is the only thing worth looking at. Even the Christmas tree doesn’t look good for him anymore.
my cat is so in love with my girlfriend that it is not even bothering destroying the Christmas tree

2. Getting comfortable
He’s new to the family. As such, he’s still getting used to everyone. His human realized that cuddling him seems to help ease his anxieties. Fortunately, it’s something she’s more than willing to do for her new cat.
This is Max. I adopted him yesterday. He spent nearly 4 hours in my lap this morning napping off and on and cried when I tried to put him down. So I skipped coffee refills, taking advantage of my stand-up desk, and bathroom breaks. (Excuse the robe. Mandatory home office dress code.)

3. The way this cat stares at his human
This is pure affection and loyalty. If your cat looks at you like this, you can bet that he’ll do anything and everything for you.
4. No forgetting the human
Cats have a very good memory. Even if they get separated from their humans for several years, they’ll never forget them.
Hadn’t seen my little angel in over a year and was worried she’d have forgotten me. Instead she was the snuggliest she had ever been!

5. A great bond
Most cats are grumpy and stubborn. However, this one’s a bit different. She’s actually super affectionate. She likes giving her humans lots of morning kisses.
6. No words needed.
This cat does an awesome job in helping his human deal with depression. Although he can’t speak or communicate, he’s able to show his love for his human. This is why a cat’s cuddle is precious.
Today my depression almost won, but now my cat came for a cuddle and gave me a reason to smile and to keep fighting

7. Daddy’s girl
One look and you can easily tell who’s this cat’s favorite person. When daddy’s around, nothing else matters anymore for her.
8. Always waiting
Their humans are out of the house for several hours per day but these cats don’t mind. They always wait for them to come home and they do it while sitting side by side. Adorable, right?
This is the view we come home to every day. Not sure how long they wait, but they are there side by side as always

9. A different way of expressing love
This cat’s grouchy most of the time. In fact, he doesn’t like to be held or cuddled. However, once he realized his human needed some comfort, he decided to be more affectionate.
My cat doesn’t like to cuddle, and he’s grouchy. But when my daughter came home a week after brain surgery he slept on her pillow for three days.

10. Anything for love
The cat will do anything just to be near her human. Even if she needs to stand uncomfortably on his chair, she’ll do it.
11. Unconditional love
When you love your cat, she’ll do everything to give it back to you in her own way. That’s exactly what’s happening between these two. They have nothing but pure love for each other.
I just want to say, I love my cat. She meets me at the door every day I come home from work for a big hug and then cuddles up in my lap to watch netflix and just be with me. I wake up near every morning with her cuddled up to me and I don’t know what I did to deserve this kind of unconditional love.

12. Doing good
This is one good reason why no one should judge cats. Like humans, they have the ability to change, particularly when they’re showered with lots of love.
I rescued a cat in 2020 that had been at the shelter for 11 years. They were worried she would be antisocial and not adapt to a home well after spending so long in a cage, but she’s doing OK :)

13. Like a guardian angel
Sometimes, words aren’t necessary to convey what you’re feeling with cats. They just seem to understand what’s happening with their humans.
I’m sorry my bedroom isn’t the prettiest but This is my cat, Kiki. I have ptsd and get a lot of nightmares that make it difficult to sleep. But everytime I do, she goes right to my side and sit there all night to make sure I’m okay. If this is her I love you, I damn sure love her back

14. The start of a solid friendship
Once you gain a cat’s trust, he’ll be with you forever. That’s the case between these two. Even if they haven’t been together for a long time, the cat knew that they need to be together always. It’s like an instant bond.
15. Simply adorable
They both love each other. And for sure, they’ll be together until they grow old.
16. Perfect timing
The human came right on time to save the poor animal’s life. These two are meant to be together, that’s for sure.
The day I adopted Lulu. She was slated to be euthanized the following week, but through a local shelter I was able to adopt her in time. I love her so much.

17. Just in case
The cat probably decided to sit there just in case his human decides to come back. In that spot, he’ll be the first one to greet him.
18. Super clingy
She’s looking at her human to make sure she doesn’t stop giving belly rubs. Well, with those eyes, I bet the human spent hours giving in to the cat’s request. It’s hard to say no when your cat looks like that.
19. So fluffy!
This human’s lucky. Not all mama cats are willing to let any human near their babies.

20. That trust
Most cats won’t feel comfortable being held this way. A lot of them would try to escape right away.
21. Feeling safe
At 3 to 4 weeks old, these kittens can’t defend themselves in case something bad happens. Fortunately, their mama knows that their human is around to protect them.
22. A gentle warning
She’s just excited. That look doesn’t mean he’s going to do something bad to his human. However, he still needs to be careful about those claws.
23. Time for play
She’s probably wondering why her human’s not engaging in play yet. She’s so ready to jump, pounce, and give lots of cuddles. Well, with how adorable the cat looks, we can’t blame the human for choosing to take a photo first before playing with her.
24. A little cheeky
That’s a very precious blep! For sure, her human probably tried so many times to capture it in a photo. Perfect timing, indeed.
25. A beautiful cat
She looks very pretty, right? Even if her human fail to find out what kind of cat she is, it doesn’t really matter. She’s precious.
This is my beautiful kitty, Tulip. For years I’ve been asked what she is, and the only things I’ve been told by two of the vets I’ve had were that she was tortoise shell and Maine Coon(which doesn’t seem right). Did some research. Is she a long haired Dilute Tortoise Shell?

The kitten the best spot for napping. He probably feels super safe and secure beside his human. Nothing can interrupt his sleep or his dreams.
27. Raising them together
She’s sharing her kittens with her humans as if she’s telling her they’re hers, too. It’s always nice to witness this amount of trust between a cat and her human.
28. The best spot
Most cats prefer to sleep on their humans’ laps. Others like to cuddle and nap beside their favorite people. However, this cat’s a bit different. He actually prefers to sleep on his human’s head.
29. Looking so happy
The way the cat’s looking at the man is just adorable. It’s quite obvious that she’s her favorite person in the world.
30. A dream come true
There’s no such thing as too old when it comes to owning cats. They will love their humans and stay faithful to them no matter what their age is.
