Cats are a lot smarter than they let on.

But they usually only use those smarts when they need to.

And that’s usually when everyone’s back is turned.

Milo, the cat, is no exception, especially when he wants his way.

You see, Milo has a little trick he likes to play on his dog brother.

He pulls this sneaky act when the dog starts getting on his nerves.

That’s when Milo decides it’s time for the dog to get in his crate.

So, how does a small cat-like Milo get a big dog into his crate?

He uses his kitty cat cunning. First, Milo puts some bait inside the cage.

That bait is himself. So, he’ll sit inside the cage waiting for the dog to join him, which of course, the dog will because he likes to annoy the cat.

Once the dog comes inside and starts sniffing Milo up and down, Milo springs into action.

Milo quickly runs out of the cage, leaving the dog inside. Milo then stands guard at the crate door to make sure the dog won’t escape.

The poor sweet dog just looks confused at this point.

He just wanted to play!

That’s when Milo closes the crate door every so slightly.

Now, this is the part where Milo has to bet that the dog isn’t as intelligent as he is.

At this point, the dog thinks that he is stuck inside the cage even though the door is only partially shut.

Now, Milo is free to enjoy the living room without being pestered by the dog.

But more importantly, he has his human mom all to himself.

He doesn’t like sharing his mom’s love and affection with the dog and wants to keep it all for himself.

His perfect scheme of imprisoning the pooch allows him to glom all of his mom’s attention.

Science shows that cats are highly intelligent and that their brains are similarly structured to human brains.

“Further, a cat’s brain is separated into different areas that each perform specialized tasks. These areas are all interconnected and can easily and rapidly share information. This exchange of information gives your cat a valuable perception of his surrounding environment and allows him to react to and even manipulate his environment,” veterinarian Dr. Lorie Huston tells PetMD.

There is much research on how the mind of a dog works, however, the same can’t be said for cats. This is because they aren’t very cooperative during scientific studies.

No surprise there! Researchers were able to confirm that cats don’t care about what you want, and they don’t care about science. Again… no surprise there!

“Cats crack me up. People who say they aren’t super smart haven’t actually owned one, at least not for very long. Mine have really surprised me now and then!” wrote one YouTube commenter after watching the video of Milo’s clever scheme on the dog.
