Cats are the second most popular pets in the United States, next only to dogs.
According to a National Pet Owners Survey, Americans own 88.3 million cats.
Owning a cat can be very healing for pet owners.
Research suggests cat owners are less likely to die of heart attacks than people who have never owned a cat.
Having a cat as a pet can also help lower blood pressure and release dopamine and serotonin, which improves immunity and reduce stress.
A pet cat can also help release oxytocin, which is often described as a “happy hormone.”
These reasons make it no wonder millions of people love cats.
Sarah and Gabriel adopted their pet cat Anna from a shelter in 2016.
“Everything she did was very well-mannered. And then, as soon as she realized she gets to go wherever she wants, there couldn’t be a door closed around her. She had to be inside,” Gabriel told The Dodo.
They describe her as an attention-seeker who lets everyone know when she enters a room.
Anna’s quirkiest trait is picking up bras from around their house and giving them to Gabriel and Sarah.
They call it her full-time job.
They explain that Anna usually gets a bra from one of their roommate’s rooms and brings it to them, so they often have bras lying around all over their house.
One time, Sarah woke up in the middle of the night to Anna, bringing her a bra in bed.
Sarah and Gabriel shared that Anna’s habit of bringing them things started with plastic bags. Then she moved to random loose objects, including gloves.
“She has her normal rotation of items, but sometimes she’ll throw something new in there,” Sarah said.
Anna has brought them a Christmas stocking, stuffed animals, and her favorite Squishmallows, a kind of stuffed toy.
They say Anna likes to keep them guessing and continues to bring them new things, like Sarah’s makeup bag.
“I’ve never seen a cat like her. She has a lot of little quirks and weird things about her, but obviously, the bringing-the-gifts thing is the most exciting,” Sarah also shared.
“I couldn’t imagine life without her. It would be a lot less interesting,” she ended.
Anna is definitely one of the cutest and most amusing cats we’ve ever seen. We can imagine how fun and exciting living with her would be.
