“Sorry I’m late. It was the cat.” Imagine saying that to your boss. That’s a one way ticket to the HR’s office. And even though you know that it’s the truth, who’s going to believe you? That darn cat.
That’s what Joaquim the cranky kitty does to this lady and her friend. He hears the alarm go off and he is not having it. Perhaps it also wakes him.
It’s understandable. Who wants to be woken up by someone else’s alarm, right?
Just look at Joaquim’s face. He is annoyed at his humans. That face says it all. How dare these heathens wake me up then just leave me? And where’s my food?
Not like he needs it. That’s one chubby kitty! So the question now, is how did their boss take their tardiness?
“I can’t wait for them to show this to their bosses.”
Says a viewer.
See the moment the phone’s alarm goes off, Joaquim jumps down from the table, walks across the room, jumps up on the bedside table and gives the phone a death stare. Now it really is funny but he’s a smart cat!
He knows it’s the phone making all the noise and he heads towards it, swiping at it with his paw, trying to figure out how to shut off the bloody contraption!
Joaquim knows that it’s a touch screen but will the phone recognize that paw?
The furry feline moves to the bed and tries to nibble on her human’s arm. Giggles are heard but Joaquim still looks annoyed.
Another viewer says,
“Turns off the alarm and then bites your arm like crazy, love this kitten.”
Yeah that’s how they disarm you. With love.
So it could be he doesn’t want to be woken up by the noise. Or he doesn’t want his humans to leave him while they head off to the office. He’d much rather have them sleep. So long as they stay with him.
Now if only cats could pay us to sleep in and spend the day with them.
Cats learn by doing and not by seeing.
Their brain structure is around 90% similar to humans. And they have good decision making and problem solving skills for their size. Never underestimate a cat.
And it’s evident that Joaquim is a smart one. If this cat could talk, he’d make his feelings known about this whole alarm clock gig his humans have. And besides, why rely on a phone when he could be the one appointed to wake them up?
Cats have good long and short term memories.
They seem to recognize patterns. Chances are, Joaquim here has seen his humans fiddle with that phone, put it on the table, only to have it make a ruckus a few hours later. This kitty knows it and he took action.
Now if only Joaquim could pay back what his humans lost for the times they turned up late for work. See, not everyone can sleep like cats. Not to mention those nine lives that allow them to use up more time dozing off.
Someone tell Joaquim that his humans need to go to work so they can buy him his food!
