This is Bundy. He lives with his mom, Kyla, and two cat siblings, and is named after a serial killer.
All of the cats are adults. No kittens.
And when his mom brought home a 3-week-old foster kitten named Nugget, he had no idea how to deal with this new thing in the house. It was the first kitten he’d ever seen in his life.
Bundy sniffed her. Maybe the kitten’s scent will tell him what this is and how to deal with it.
He tapped Nugget’s head because maybe it was a toy and he can play with it.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Bundy believed Nugget was a toy and he started to jump on her and body slamming her. Imagine an adult cat body-slamming a 3-week-old kitten!
Bundy’s mom is always on high alert because she never knows what Bundy will do next to the tiny kitten.
But you know what?
Bundy was too excited to have a new playmate. He just kept nudging her, sniffing her, and rough playing with her.
There was a point though when Nugget had enough. Bundy had jumped on her and was biting her when she rolled over and hit Bundy on the face with her paw.
Bundy was shocked!
Why is my toy fighting back? He tried to go nearer again to play but Nugget pushed again.
And that was the start of a great relationship between Bundy and Nugget. Nugget played back whenever Bundy did. She did not let Bundy get aggressive or if she did, she got aggressive herself. It really strengthened their bond.
Their relationship went from uncertain to a mentor-mentee type of relationship.
Bundy taught Nugget how to play. And they would play for hours non-stop. It was like Bundy was teaching Nugget the facts of life and Nugget was ready to learn and absorb all those lessons.
Nugget is going to do great at her forever home.
Although there were times when Bundy handled Nugget like a parent who is guilty of child abuse. According to his mom, he did do the scruffing technique sometimes. Of course, it is going to be rough at times until he perfects the technique. The important thing is that Nugget is still okay.
People loved the evolution of Bundy and Nugget’s relationship and a lot of them believed Bundy wasn’t too tough.
“The cute thing is that every single time Bundy pounced onto Nugget in this video, he was actually very gentle about the amount of force he applied to her,” Margaryta Tchouikevitch shared.
“This is too precious. I laughed out loud when he tried to carry him in his mouth. It’s so heartwarming to watch him progress from super-bewilderment into love and playfulness,” roden space forced said.
Despite the rough start to their relationship, it’s good to know that these two cats eventually got along.
