Justin Craig changed Phil’s life when he rescued the fluffy, polydactyl kitty from a local shelter. Little did Justin know, however, that the amazing cat would change his life too…
Justin met Phil the kitty while he was visiting his local SPCA. Although the shelter had a number of friendly feline residents, Phil caught Justin’s attention. When the pair locked eyes, it was love at first sight— and although Justin went home without a cat that day, he couldn’t get Phil out of his mind.
Justin returned to the shelter a few days later. This time, he knew he would be leaving with Phil, the giant-pawed furry cat. He quickly filled out all the paperwork— then he scooped up his new fur-baby and told him he finally had a brand-new home.
For those who are unaware, polydactyl kitties are cats that are born with extra toes. Regular cats have five toes on each front paw and four on each back paw, whereas polydactyl kitties can have up to eight toes on each. The extra toes give these kitties the appearance of having big, flat feet, sometimes referred to as “patty” or “hamburger” paws. Other times they’re called giant “mitts”. Whatever you choose to call Phil’s paws though, there’s no denying that they’re cute as can be!
When Phil got to Justin’s house, the fluffy kitty immediately settled into his new abode.
Phil quickly put his 27 toes to good use, kneading his new human as if to say “Thank you for bringing me home!”
The companions share an incredible bond, and Phil follows Justin everywhere he goes—including the bathtub.
Every day, Phil helps Justin in the office, always quick to offer a (big fluffy) helping paw.
Phil and his beloved human sleep together every night, with Justin revealing, “I wake up every day holding paws with my buddy.”
Since being adopted, Phil has learned to play fetch— and “He WILL NOT leave me alone now,” Justin revealed.
Since adopting Phil, Justin’s life has been completely changed by a big-mitted boy who loves to snuggle, nap on his lap, and give his owner endless amounts of purrs, kneading, and love…
And as for his beloved human?
Justin wouldn’t have it any other way.
