The best thing about pets is the unconditional love they have for us.
With some cats, you may have to look a little harder for those signs of affection- but they’re always there. While with other cats, they couldn’t make it any clearer just how much they love you.
Alex Grey is a singer and pianist who also just so happens to be the dad to a ginger and white cat. And we bet we don’t need to drop any clues about who his number one fan is.
Alex’s cat is clearly in love with his dad’s musical abilities- and he has the most adorable way of showing it.
In a video titled, “Adorable cat getting emotional as owner sings and plays the piano” we can see exactly how much Alex’s cat loves him.
The short clip shows Alex playing an emotional rendition of “What The World Needs Now Is Love” by Jackie DeShannon. As Alex plays the opening few notes on his piano, his cat has an instant emotional reaction.
The sweet boy puts his two front paws onto Alex’s arm and gazes straight up into his eyes.
It’s such a pure look of love that our hearts can barely take it! In between focusing on playing the correct notes, Alex keeps looking down at his cat, and the two gaze at each other in mutual adoration.
But the cuteness doesn’t stop there!
As Alex sings the line, “Slow, sweet love,” his cat decides that this is the perfect opportunity for a cuddle, and reaches up to butt his head on Alex’s.
The moment is so adorable that even Alex is taken by surprise. He still manages to continue on with his singing, but he can’t stop the huge smile from spreading on his face.
Only the best humans are trusted enough to receive a cat headbutt.
According to cat behaviorist Pam Johnson-Bennett, cats will headbutt humans for bonding or socializing purposes. “For the cat to place his face so close to yours and engage in this bonding behavior is quite an act of trust,” she says.
It’s clear that Alex and his cat have an unbreakable bond.
The video was shared onto YouTube by Maya, and since being posted it has racked up an impressive 1.7 million views from people all over the world.
