Can dogs and cats build lifetime friendships? According to this video, they can and they do!
For years, devoted pet owners have claimed that dogs and cats, which are supposedly natural enemies, often build long-lasting friendships. Cats do not necessarily see dogs as scary, just overly energetic. That energy sets off emotions and natural instincts of needing to get away for protection. From the dog’s perspective, the cat is not a foe or prey, just a curious new toy, something fun to play with and chase.
While some people can share horror stories about having a dog and cat in the same house, others have nothing but praise for how these two different yet similar furry creatures cohabitate.
That was the kind of experience that one pet owner had with her dog, Bow-Z, and her cat, Jasper.
You see, Bow-Z had been away from home for 10 days, which for everyone seemed like an eternity. As imagined, the owners, as well as other family members and friends missed this furry creature and were anxious for his return. However, no one missed Bow-Z’s presence more than Jasper, the dog’s faithful and loving companion.
Knowing that these two animals were very close, on the day of Bow-Z’s homecoming, their owner decided to pull out her video recorder so that she could capture the reunion.
Although the pet’s owner anticipated that the two would greet each other at least with a quick sniff and touch test, as you can see in the video, the reunion was much different. Jasper, who had missed his friend terribly, had an unexpected reaction to seeing Bow-Z.
This loving cat wrapped his arms tightly around his canine friend’s neck, but what makes this video so amazing is that instead of a brief hug, he refused to let go.
The look on Bow-Z’s face is priceless. You can see that he is somewhat taken back by Jasper’s emotional response yet at the same time, loving every bit of the attention received by his feline friend.
When it comes to heartwarming moments between two different types of four-legged friends, this video says it all.
Just as pet owners claim, this video is proof that animals are full of surprises. After watching the video, you will agree that few things in life are better than pets and rescued animals.
