The best job I can possibly think of would be to cozy up with cats all day long. Well, guess what? That dream job actually exists! An Irish veterinarian in Consilla, Dublin was searching for a cat cuddler. Yes, that’s right a cat cuddler. They would pay you to come and cuddle their cats.
Just Cats Veterinary Clinic and Cattery had listed a job posting on their website looking for a crazy cat person that would be able to cuddle cats for extended periods. The job also requires one to speak sweet nothings to the kitties to calm them and to understand the language of the purr.
Here’s what their job posting, said according to Morning Dose:
“Based in Clonsilla, Dublin 15, we are Dublin’s only veterinary clinic just for cats. We are looking for someone to work with our feline friendly staff in a ‘no dogs’ veterinary clinic. We are an equal opportunities employer, however, we do discriminate against dogs attending our veterinary clinic as patients.
The ideal candidate must have gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time. They need to softly speak and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients. An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us.”
Before you get too excited about your new job as “cat cuddler,” there are some professional requirements for the jobs.
In order to be hired at a “cat cuddler,” you must be recognized by the veterinary council in Ireland.
But a little training and certification seem like a small sacrifice in order to have the job of your dreams. If the concept of being a cat cuddler is blowing your mind right now, you’re not the only one!
