When it comes to animal friendships, we’re pretty used to dogs being the affectionate ones. More often than not, our canine friends are sociable, happy, and willing to share their love, and it’s one of the things that we love most about them.
Now, while the same can’t be said for cats, it doesn’t mean that we love them any less. Cats are known for having a shorter temper than dogs, which makes the relationship between a cat and dog an *ahem* interesting one. While dogs are always up for some fun, cats only want to play their terms- so when a cat is done with the game, then the game has to be done.
So when we saw a video of a cat greeting his dog brother who had returned after being away for 10 days, it wasn’t at all what we were expecting.
The cat seems absolutely overjoyed to have his sibling back, and he wastes no time in wrapping his arms around him for a big hug. In fact, the cat seems a lot more bothered than the dog, who stands nice and patiently while his brother cuddles up with him. How the tables have turned, huh?
The video, titled, “Cat misses dog after being apart for 10 days,” was shared onto YouTube by joshbouz and took the internet by storm. Since being posted in May 2012, people have been going crazy for the adoring siblings, and the sweet clip currently has over 25 million views, as well as thousands of likes and comments.
The caption explains, “Bow-Z remains patient as Jasper gives him hugs a plenty!” and the adorable video is making hearts melt all over the world. The tough thing about having an animal is that you can’t explain to them why things are happening – so Jasper the cat probably thought that he was never going to see Bow-Z again! He seems over the moon that his brother has returned, and instantly puts his paws around Bow-Z’s shoulders while meowing happily.
Every time Bow-Z attempts to step back and break off the hug, Jasper gives a meow and puts his arms back around the pooch, giving him lots of licks to let him know how much he missed him.
It truly is one of the most adorable videos, and people took to the comments to share their love for the sweet pair.
