Our pet’s antics can be the source of hours of hilarity. The ability they have to make us belly-laugh is just incredible. No matter the situation, pets can always comfort us or make us laugh, right when we need it.
Carrot the cat is one of those hilarious pets.
Rachel and Andrew were foster pet parents who loved to have animals in their home. Their large hearts let them look after many a pet who needed a good temporary home. One cat never left, though!
A rescue kitten found in the dumps, Carrot needed a home.
When Andrew and Rachel got the call that a cat needed a temporary foster home, they were happy to oblige. Their new roommate was an orange tabby who was found as a kitten, abandoned in a Maryland parking lot.
After some time, the cat stole their hearts.
The way that some animals can weave their way into your heart is incredible. When the couple got to meet the orange tabby, thy knew that simply fostering the cat may not be an option.
Known as a “foster fail,” the couple decided they were going to adopt the cat permanently.
The personality of Carrot was hilarious and intelligent. They describe him as:
“smart, playful, mischievous, and incredibly food-motivated, perhaps as a consequence of his early days scrounging for scraps on the street.”
This makes sense as many animals who grew up on the street didn’t know where their next meal was going to come from.
More than just liking food, Carrot is obsessed.
Carrot gets regular meals from an auto-feeder that dispenses the recommended amount of food for him a few times a day. For many cats, this would be plenty. Carrot is no ordinary cat!
When he gets hungry, you know about it!
Carrot loves to express his feeling and emotions, especially his hunger! Even after being fed from the automatic feeder, he hangs around the fridge, waiting for handouts and voicing his dissatisfaction.
“We feed him three times a day. His breakfast comes from an auto feeder, but he cries for his first dinner and he cries for his second dinner.”
His food addiction has almost gotten him into some serious trouble!
Carrot’s love of food has almost gotten him hurt! When anyone goes into the fridge, the hungry feline loves to stick his paw through the crack in the door and reach for whatever he can find!
“He likes to stick his arm through the door as a game and grab whatever he can reach and just claw at us in the fridge so we can play back with him,” said Rachel.
