Our hearts broke into a million pieces the minute we saw a tiny dog named Freddie Mercury.
This sweet dog was neglected to the extreme and was found in a bag under a car, left for dead, in December 2018.
Freddie’s story
Freddie has multiple deformations caused by birth defects as well as two sets of teeth that sit on top of one another, making it very difficult for her to eat.
On top of that, she was born without an epiglottis, making it easy for her to choke and more prone to pneumonia.
Freddie was found severely malnourished and with multiple broken bones after being abused and neglected. The fractures were so bad in two legs that the damage is permanent.

Freddie was taken to a special dog rescue for the most at-risk animals with little chance of being adopted called Marley’s Mutts. That’s where an animal-lover named Angela Adan from Tehachapi, California saw her and decided to foster her before finally just adopting the joyful pup she had fallen in love with.

Now, with 325,000 Instagram followers and a loving home, Freddie is an inspiration.
Freddie & her friend’s big day out
Rocky Kanaka is an actor, TV and web show host, and animal advocate who is famous for his YouTube series “Dog’s Day Out.”
In each episode, he finds a deserving pooch and takes them to the pet store, buying them every single thing they touch or even seem to like.
The episode starring Freddie shows us just what the poor, sweet dog looks like when she tries to move and eat.
The episode also stars Freddie’s friend Bosco, who does need a home. And he too got to pick out anything he wanted from the pet store.
Kanaka explained:
“If you think about it a lot of dogs at shelters and rescues have been neglected their entire life and may have never had someone take them to a pet store like Petco or PetSmart. I don’t know about you but I think BOSCO deserves to go on this shopping spree challenge.”
Kanaka also took pity on Bosco because he’s a senior dog and had a hard time getting adopted. Bosco happily took advantage of the goodwill!
He picked out LOTS of toys and even chose a bowl for his pal Freddie.
Play the day away
Both pups had a great day, and afterward, Freddie was tucked safely inside mom’s carrier while Bosco got to try out his new toys at the park.
It was clear he still had plenty of energy and affection for an older dog.
The dogs also each got a trip to Starbucks for one of their famed “puppuccinos” (which is just a cup of foam, but one that dogs tend to delight in nonetheless).
Little Freddie managed to lap hers up.
Bosco loved his treat too.
And since over 18 million people have watched this video since February 2019 when it was uploaded, it’s no surprise that Kanaka was able to update the caption with the good news that Bosco was, indeed, adopted!
