A good photoshoot can be so much fun. The empowerment you feel from seeing yourself looking great is always appreciated, and you get a chance to update your profile pics on all your social media profiles! Well, whether you are the one being photographed or taking the photos yourself, the whole process is an enjoyable one.
Ashley Shoon and her dog, Muffin, love to spend time together. Muffin is a bulldog puppy who gets all of the love Ashley can muster! One of their favorite things to do is take pictures and have a blast doing it.
When Ashley and Muffin were at the park one day, Ashley pulled out her camera and decide to do a little impromptu photoshoot. Muffin was nine months old and was about due for a portfolio refresh.
As the two were playing, a special guest dropped in.
Ashley places a little crown of flowers on Muffin’s head to take some photos, making her a prime target… for a butterfly! All of a sudden their little photoshoot was interrupted by a gentle and cute guest.
Muffin is an emotional support dog and is very aware of people’s emotions around her.
Emotional support dogs make great friends. Due to their training, they are often hyper-aware of what people are feeling around them. As a secondary result of their training, they are often very docile and reserved, making sure their owners are able to stay calm.
During their photoshoot, Muffin was very excited and was difficult to calm down.
“She didn’t even know what to do. She was so confused as to what the heck just landed on her face.”
Dogs are pretty comprehending of their environment thankfully. Muffin didn’t immediately eat the butterfly like many bulldogs might!
“I was scared she was going to try to eat it,” Schoon said. “But she decided to lay all the way flat on her back and just let the butterfly stay on her tummy.”
Muffin somehow knew that the butterfly was very delicate. As a result, she was very gentle as she moved.
As the butterfly walked around its new, furry, home, Muffin just lay there, belly up, paws, splayed, enjoying the moment. The butterfly took off once and you would think the story would be over, but think again!
“It landed on [Muffin’s] chin and she tried to look up at it without it going away,” Schoon said.
Maybe we all need a Muffin in our lives. People all across the world saw the photos and absolutely loved them. Ashley knew the effect that Muffin had on people and commented:
“People on Twitter have been saying how much her photos have helped them forget about how bad the world is right now, just for a little bit, and I love that,” Schoon said. “She’s helped me so much and she’s even helping strangers that she’s never met before and that makes me so happy. The world needs some light right now.”
