If there are two things dogs love, its belly rubs and food. Funny enough, those two things are also what dogs beg NON-STOP for! If you want a dog, be prepared to face an array of begging tactics (and don’t even pretend they don’t work on you!)
Anyone who has ever owned a dog knows the responsibilities that come with it.
When deciding to bring a dog into the home, certain considerations must be taken. First and foremost is the ability to take care of the basic needs of your pup. Are you able to provide plenty of food, water, and appropriate space for your furry friend? If you can say yes to all these, that still doesn’t necessarily mean you are ready.
The second piece of owning a dog is time.
In case you didn’t know, you need to spend at least three uninterrupted hours a day petting your dog. Well, that’s what a dog thinks! You can sit there for thirty minutes scratching your dog’s belly, and the second you let up, they look shocked that you would even consider that enough time!
When a dog wants more of something, they have no reservations in letting you know.
Dogs have no shame, especially when it comes to things they want! They will beg, beg, beg until you let up and give in to their cute little eyes and floppy ears. While we are usually aware of our dogs begging for food, most of us have had our dogs beg for belly scratches.
How your dog begs is often a reflection of their personality.
Do you have a high-energy, excitable dog? Expect some bouncing and maybe a yip or two when they are asking you for something. Have a dog that is calm and reliable, the old man of the family? Expect eyes that can melt a heart of stone to pierce you when they want something!
For Frankie the bulldog, his method of begging is unique!
Frankie is an Australian bulldog who has gotten famous on the internet because of the unique way he likes to ask his owner for pets. Frankie doesn’t fit into the categories we listed earlier (he isn’t super high-energy OR an old man). This chubby pup pulls out his secret weapon whenever he wants his owner to keep petting him when she has stopped.
Sitting up like a human on the couch, Frankie’s owner occasionally reaches over to scratch his belly.
While this seems generous for the human, Frankie isn’t half satisfied. He wants more! Whenever his owner stops scratching him, he looks over, reaches his paws across, and puts his paw on her hand! He doesn’t even move his paw until he knows that his tactic has worked!
When the simple “paw rest” doesn’t work, he kicks it up a notch.
Sometimes, being passive just doesn’t work. Frankie knows this. When he really wants more pets, he will actually reach his paws over, grab his owner’s hand, and put it on his belly! This dude has the moves!
People love him.
When his humans uploaded the video to YouTube, it blew up. Currently, the video has over 11 million views and gets new comments every day! One of the best says this:
