Not all cats were created equal. And that’s evident when you take a look at Bruno the cat. This round weirdo has captured the internet’s heart with his quirky ways.
Bruno shot to internet superstardom after his picture was posted by Wright-Way Rescue, a non-for-profit no-kill animal shelter in Morton Grove, Illinois.
As they so perfectly put it in his adoption ad, Bruno was just “too cool to be homeless.” Basically, everything about Bruno is extra, including having extra fingers.
He is a 7-year-old polydactyl cat who looks like he has thumbs. And here’s a lot of this guy to love.
Bruno weighs 25-pounds.
Despite his extra pounds, he is perfectly healthy. But he is getting some extra exercise in to shed some of those pounds.

What’s most unique is the fact that he likes to stand on his two back legs.
So, he likes to sit upright like a human.
“This usually happens when I want food. No, my foster parents did not teach me this. They are not sure how I learned,” Bruno’s adoption post reads.
In addition to being extra, he’s a little high maintenance. But he can totally get away with it because he’s so darn cute.
He likes to play with a specific toy and shuns the rest.
A beautiful feather wand is the only toy that will do. He also likes to be scratched on the sides of his face and neck. Bruno only accepts pets in the top of his head and spine only.
His tummy is off limits. And he likes to be pet while he is eating.
He might meow you to death if you don’t.
“It took my foster mom a little time to realize what I was meowing about, since she had just put food in my bowl. Soon she found out it’s because I want pets while I eats!” reads Bruno’s post.
“I will still eat if you don’t pet me, but I will meow more and stare at you for a while…I also drink a lot of water. I never drink the water in the kitchen where my food is. I only drink the water that was put in a completely different room. If you have a larger house, perhaps put multiple bowls of water around for me and be sure to give me fresh water at least once day? Yes, I know I am EXTRA.”
Speaking of meowing, Bruno likes to talk… a lot! He is “a chatty kitty.” Other than that, he’s pretty laid back and likes to lounge around a lot.
He loves to be around his humans.
” I hear I make them laugh and smile every single day, so I hope I can do the same for you!” Bruno wrote to his future owners.
After Wright-Way Rescue posted the ad on Facebook, it ended up going viral and was shared more than 25,000 times.
The requests to adopt Bruno came pouring in.
Eventually, Laura was selected as Bruno’s forever mom. And she is just as extra as he is. It’s a match made in cat heaven. You can listen to the phone call where Laura gets the good news in the video below.
