One extraordinary Dalmatian mother, Nellie, recently astounded everyone by giving birth to a staggering litter of eighteen puppies.
Despite the enormity of the task, this supermom remained calm throughout the process, even taking a break for a nap at one point.
Both Nellie and her puppies are doing well and are eagerly awaiting the day they can go to their forever homes.
When Nellie, a three-year-old Dalmatian, fell pregnant, the vets predicted she would have three puppies.
However, as the birthing process unfolded, it became apparent that Nellie was carrying far more than just three pups.
The labor was a grueling 14-hour ordeal, but Nellie’s owner, Louise Clement, from Preston, reported that Nellie had a smooth natural labor, and the puppies just kept coming.
The mom ended up giving birth to ten little boy pups and eight little girl pups.

Regardless of whether Nellie was fully aware of what was happening, she accepted the situation and carried on with grace.
Louise has been breeding Dalmatians for 30 years, but she confessed that she had never seen anything quite like this before.
She recalled, “I thought she’d stopped after number 15, because it looked like she had laid down to go to sleep. But then along came another one, and two more after that. Nellie is making a really lovely mum. I’m immensely proud of her, she’s been amazing.”
With such a large litter, one might wonder how Louise manages all the extra pawprints around her house.
Fortunately, her home is well-equipped to accommodate a multitude of animals.
She explained, “Fortunately, we have a lot of outside space and the dogs have lots of things to play with.
They’ve got their own Wendy House, and swings and slides that they love to play on.”

She shared, “Some sleep in the kitchen, some sleep in the utility room, and some sleep in the living room. A couple occasionally join me in bed.”
To distinguish between the puppies, Louise has placed a temporary spot of dye on each one, with each color being different.
Once they grow big enough, they will each have a collar to help tell them apart.
