Culture’s riddled with tales of epic battles that challenged the fate of the realm – Vader vs. Luke, David vs. Goliath, the Viper vs. the Mountain, etc…
Each of these battles featured a hero up against unfathomable, almost impossible odds.
But the following epic showdown’s a little different, mixing the modern and the prehistoric.
Grab your popcorn, because this is dog vs. dinosaur.
Golden Retrievers are among the most majestic dogs on the planet, known for their affable personalities, golden manes, and sharp wits.
They even make decent guard dogs due to their size and loyalness.
But a raccoon is different than a burglar… which are both essentially incomparable to a giant, imposing dinosaur.
Most dogs simply don’t have experience with prehistoric predators.
The Golden Retriever stands guard as it senses something unusual in the distance. Its ears perk up at the sound of some rustling around the corner.
Within a matter of moments, a giant Tyrannosaurus rex waddles into view!
Look at those teeth! This T. rex means business.
The formidable prehistoric carnivore approaches the gate, but it’s met by the Golden Retriever standing guard (literally) on the other side.
The dog jumps onto the gate in an attempt to scare the raptor away.
The stage is set for a battle of the ages.
Our dog hero continues to posture, but it doesn’t work.
The T. rex opens the gate, infiltrating this family’s backyard.
The Golden Retriever backs away, creating some space with the villainous dino. It’s probably worried about its own life at this point, but its bravery’s on full display.
Our hero retreats further into the yard, sending some fierce barks and growls in an attempt to shoo the dinosaur away.
The Golden Retriever’s surely got this one in the bag.
The dog’s ferocity seems to be working! The T. rex turns around and scampers back towards the corner of the yard.
Hurray, the day is saved!
Or have I spoken too soon?
The T. rex turns around, mouth wide open. Like a patient alligator assessing its surroundings, ready to pounce, the dino stands and stares without moving a muscle.
Things are a little too quiet…
The T. rex builds up momentum, charging headfirst towards the Golden Retriever!
Look at those tiny T. Rex arms flailing in the wind!
The Golden Retriever gives up some ground, darting around to avoid potential harm.
The dog proceeds to retreat for its life! The T. Rex’s advances are met with barks and growls.
But something’s a little off about this particular T. rex… Dinosaurs haven’t been around for millions and millions of years!
Did this T. rex’s ancestors survive the mass extinction event?!
This keen Golden Retriever knows something’s up.
Upon closer inspection of its nemesis, the dog’s demeanor changes completely. Now, instead of running away, it runs towards the invader, sniffing up a storm!
The supposed T. rex stands still, frozen in its tracks. A hand and head peek out from the inside of what’s obviously an inflatable dinosaur costume.
Honestly, it’d certainly make a wonderful, hilarious Halloween costume!
A person, presumably friends with the homeowners, pops right out of the T. rex’s chest!
He and the Golden Retriever proceed to exchange a few adorable pleasantries.
Obviously, they know each other. Although things looked dicey just a little bit ago, now there’s nothing but love.
This brave Golden Retriever put up quite the fight against this Tyrannosaurus rex imposter. The dog played some great defense before coming to the keen realization that the dino was no threat at all.
Have no fear, the day has been saved thanks to the incredible capabilities of one heroic dog. This family has a lot of thanking to do!
