Rudy is a well-known feline who gained fame due to his disability.

Despite being “disadvantaged”, Rudy is said to live a happy and active life and can navigate and play just like any other cat.

In fact, you’d be surprised at just what a normal life Rudy lives.

His family found him at Forget Me Not Animal Shelter in the Republic, Washington.

He was just around five months old when he and his litter were discovered.

Rudy, along with his other littermates, were all born in a feral cat colony.

Sadly, their mother left them.

All the kittens, without care, developed severe eye and nasal infections. When they were rescued, it was almost too late for most of them.

The doctors needed to remove one or both of their eyes because of the severe infection.

Some kittens became blind, including Rudy.

His new family adopted him, and while driving the long 5-hour drive home, they fell in love with him even more.

Rudy cuddled with them like a baby, and his fur parents vowed to love and care for him.

At first, his humans weren’t sure how to accommodate the blind kitten.

Did Rudy need coddling? Nope.

They limited his space so he wouldn’t feel scared or overwhelmed. Upon observing his behavior, though, they realized Rudy didn’t want to be kept in a small area.

Rudy loves to eat and is very curious. His heightened sense of smell and hearing allow him to explore things.

Rudy “sneak attacks” the whole family.

No one in the house is safe from this stealthy ninja kitty. He also has plenty of playtime with his cat and dog siblings. What they could do, he could do better.

He knows how to run and climb the stairs; he knows where his treats are, and he loves to play hide and seek.

Rudy also loves to snuggle, purr, nuzzle and get lots of love from his mom and dad.

This orange cat also loves hunting.

He uses his keen sense of smell and hearing to sense his targets.

His humans offer some help as well. They keep their home as consistent as possible to ensure that Rudy won’t get confused.

He knows every part of the house and knows how to run to get there, too.

Aside from that, they have wooden floors, so Rudy can hear when someone is close.

Many people think Rudy’s an inspiration.

He’s a reminder that even those with disabilities can lead fulfilling lives.

Most times, the love and companionship that these animals provide to their owners can be just as strong, if not stronger, than that of a pet without disabilities.
