We are surely aware of many things that we can do that animal can’t. But most of the time, animals surprise us with the things we thought they can’t do.

This female elephant is Lam Duan – which means “cheesewood flowers” in Thai. She has been blind for a long time. But that doesn’t limit her from living a good life.

She is being taken care of at ElephantsWorld, an environmental conservation organization in the aforementioned country.

She has this human friend who was the reason why her talent in dancing has been shown online and has been seen by over 4.7 million viewers.

Yes, millions of people have already watched her, and yup, she knows how to dance! Amazing, right?

The video where she was dancing to classic songs was uploaded by British musician Paul Barton. He is also the man who was playing the piano in the video.

Paul was playing piano for the elephant to comfort her.

The 57-year-old clearly loves elephants that he choose to play classical songs not only for Lam but also for the other rescued animals at Elephants World Sanctuary.

He even recounted the time when he started to play pianos for elephants when he was interviewed by Coconuts.

“I was making a [YouTube] video on the River Kwai bridge in 2011 and found out about Elephants World by chance. I love elephants and liked the sound of the place being a retirement sanctuary for old, injured, handicapped logging and street elephants, so we paid them a visit,” he shared.

He then asked if he could bring his piano to play it for them. Thankfully, he was allowed to do that.

The good thing is elephants love it when Paul plays the piano.

In his YouTube channel, you would see his other videos with the other elephants in the same place. All of them are truly enjoying music.

In the video of Lam, you would see her swaying from side to side as Paul was playing a classical song. It’s a very sweet moment.

Paul’s intention to bring comfort to the elephants like Lam is something that everyone should appreciate.

Not all people would do the same thing. Don’t you agree?

Thanks to Paul for his amazing talent and for sharing it with the elephants. According to him, slow piano music is the most calming for bull elephants.

And for blind animals like Lam, gentle music comforts them.

Meanwhile, lots of people have commented on Lam’s clip. And most of the comments are positive.

Of course, like most of us, they all fell in love with Lam and her lovely dance.

“Dear YouTube, please give us a ‘This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen’ button,” one commenter wrote.

Another commenter even got emotional when the elephant started to dance.

“I’ve just watched non stop for two hours, reporting on the pandemic. When she started swaying, I started crying. You tube, you came good in the end. I’m done for the night. Thank you, Paul Barton, for this upload. I’m so pleased to have stumbled into your channel.”

It’s truly enjoyable to see animals like Lam who enjoy the things that humans also enjoy just like music.
