When he was just a baby, Monk was discovered running around a busy street. After nearly being hit by a car, the kindhearted driver hopped out to save him.

“He darted in front of my mom’s car. We stopped and got out,” Nicole Rienzi, the driver’s daughter, told Love Meow.

“He was covered in filth, bugs and very malnourished. His eyes were infected shut.”

Poor little Monkey was skinny and frail. His eyes had been left untreated for so long, he could barely see where he was going. Nicole and her mother immediately scooped him up. They knew they had to save him.

The two women brought the kitty home, giving him a nice, warm bath; a fresh, yummy meal; and some much-needed TLC. With time and devoted care, they eventually nursed Monk back to health.

When Monk started feeling a little bit better, the women soon discovered he had quite the personality. The tiny black kitten loved running around and playing with everything— a trait which earned him the name “Monkey”.

“He quickly earned his nickname because of his silly, hyper antics,” Nicole explained to Love Meow.

“At first I tried to find him a home, but I realized how much our meeting was diving alignment. I needed him just as much.”

As Monk grew bigger, so did his canine teeth— and once they started growing, they just didn’t stop! Now, with his two big fangs, Monk is a genuine little vampurr!

Nicole wasn’t sure if Monk’s adorable fangs were something to be concerned about. But after a visit to the vet, the vampurr owner was informed that Monk’s teeth are A-OK. Although the condition is a little rare, it does happen in some cats and really doesn’t cause any harm.

In fact, nowadays, Monk’s teeth have actually become his most popular feature, garnering the handsome kitty thousands of followers on the photo-sharing app and website Instagram.

One year after saving Monk, the family also rescued another black cat named Bean. The two became instant friends and love spending every moment together.

Although Monk is filled with sassy cattitude, he loves his human and loves his Bean— which he shows by smothering them with kisses and baths.
