“Dogs die. But dogs live, too. Right up until they die, they live. They live brave, beautiful lives. They protect their families. And love us. And make our lives a little brighter. And they don’t waste time being afraid of tomorrow.”
― Dan Gemeinhart, The Honest Truth
Dogs the best pets who will always protect their family from harm. Unlike cats who just sit around like a boss in the house, every dog must become a security guard to keep their families safe from danger.
They are worthy of becoming guards because of their capabilities to sense danger when it approaches. That is why when humans see a sign that says” beware of dogs,” they immediately get out of the way to avoid what they think is a ferocious canine. Sometimes, though, the dogs behind these signs are simply scarily adorable!
Here are 35 dogs behind a “beware of dogs” sign who will make you want to cuddle them because of how lovable they are.
1. Looks like he needs a little pat on the head
Beware of this dog — he will make you rub his stomach and play with him all day. Just look at that face, he looks very gentle.
2. “Ah smell sumthin delishoos”
This dog smelled someone grilling some barbecue in the back. He tried to sneak into that small hole and pretended to be hungry. Everybody will fall for his hungry-looking dog act.
3. You’re invited to go in
Here’s another playful one who badly needs some belly rubbing. He said not to worry about the sign. His toofers are just for a show — he won’t bite.
What is that behind him? Looks like this puppy just had his very first kill. His fur parent taught him to look brave and fierce despite his small size.
5. Super duper cute guards
If these are your guardians, I don’t mind trespassing into your yard just to go near them. I don’t mind being gnawed by their tiny teeth. Everyone who sees these two will completely ignore the sign and will fall in love with them.
6. Be ready for a mini surprise
If there are thieves or robbers in the neighborhood they will target this place because the guard dog is so small. They will regret their decision, though, because they’re in for a mini surprise. This tiny chihuahua packs a punch that will make them run for their lives.
This dog has too many problems already and one of them is being a guard. He didn’t want to be a guard because he just wants to do the eat-play-sleep routine like a spoiled child. In his mind, he is thinking that he didn’t sign up for this.
8. Here comes the little one trying to attack
If all guard dogs are this adorable, we would rather take the risk of getting caught. Look at him go! That is his face when trying to scare someone.
9. Dog is opposite of what the sign says
You need to believe what the sign says. This dog is guilty of a lot of crimes. He is guilty of licking, hugging, cuddling, and entertaining everyone who dares enter their property despite being a guard.
This is an example of false advertising. The dog on the poster looks like a rabid dog who attacks everyone on site. The actual dog looks like a furry angel.
11. What does the sign say?
Our parents always say we need to read and follow important signs. The sign says beware of the dog. It was not about the big dogs it was talking about a little crazy one/ The two dogs in the back are saying to go away, it’s a trap!
This guard dog will try to familiarize someone’s identity by smelling them. He also offers some licks for free!
13. No wonder no one tried to rescue you
This guy was so excited that when his fur parent took him out for a walk, they got separated and found this sign in the street. He wondered why humans do not go near him, just read the sign.
14. “Come again next time” – says the Golden retriever
Don’t expect one of the friendliest dog breeds of all time to become a full-time guard. They welcome almost everyone in the house because they love humans. They are ready to host a party all the time when their adoptive parents are away.
In the previous slide we talked about a friendly canine who loves to entertain everyone including strangers. This dog in the photo is friendly but they are at the same time they are territorial. Don’t you dare enter the backyard — it’s his turf.
16. “Just read the sign,” says Riley
This dog is too lazy to guard the house. He just stares at anyone who passes by and tells them to read the sign. Rest well, Riley the beagle.
Fences are not that safe if dogs can jump like Michael Jordan. This dog almost got a taste of a human’s fresh meat, but luckily he was not able to get out.
18. How much is that doggie in the window?
Looking like a stuffed animal, this dog is patrolling the house of her adoptive parents. No squirrel is safe if this Yorkie is on the watch. She is so serious in guarding the house, but she does not want to mess with anyone as of the moment.
19. False advertising part 2
Here’s another one of those fake ads spreading like wildfire on the internet. The owner can also be considered a genius if he used that sign to bluff unwanted guests. Whatever that sign is used for it doesn’t change the fact that the dog behind it is gorgeous.
20. A lot of humans will risk it
Anybody who comes across this fur baby will risk it despite the warning. For the sake of petting this lovely dog, everyone will flock to their backyard just to see her. No one can resist Miley’s charm.
This dog is the guardian of this compound. Don’t dare to enter its territory or she will shower you with kisses. She is so sneaky you can’t tell that she is there at first glance.
22. Trying hard to be a bully
Look at that tiny pomeranian puppy who is very eager to keep his beloved fur parents safe. He tries to imitate the fierce look of a bulldog just like what is on the sign. The harder he tries, the cuter he gets.
Her name is Lucy and she is a happy sight. The sign says ‘beware of dog,’ but once you see her smile, you won’t hesitate to interact with her. They say pit bulls are scary, but they haven’t met Lucy. She will make them change their minds.
The sign says ‘beware of dog,’ but this dog will change your mind. This dog will break the hearts of women with his pawsome charm. The sign should also say ‘do not be tempted by his puppy eyes.’
The internet always loves looking for hidden animals in photos. The image that you see is not one of those things wherein you need to find them. But honestly, you won’t be able to see the dog at first glance.
26. “Wanna fight? I bite!” – fluffy guard
This tiny pupper tried to be a tough one when her fur parents decided to put out a ‘beware of dogs’ sign. Her task was to put on a tough act to make other people believe that she can guard. No matter how she tries, her cuteness overpowers everything and makes you want to hug her like crazy!
Two heads…no three heads are better than one. Just like the guardian of the underworld Cerberus, these German shepherds combined forces to guard the porch. They showed their tounges in front of the camera so people will think they are bad carnivores.
One day, this lazy dog asked to guard the gate. His fur parent surely provided him a very useful tip: play dead when threatened. The dog decided to play dead all day.
29. False advertising part 3
When neighbors pass by they expect to see a monster coming out of that pet flap. The guardian has been unmasked. Her name is Kaia — a very friendly bull terrier.
Instead of being mean-looking this dog chooses to be friendly and accomodating to others. He seems so excited to see someone who can play with him. Same as the golden retrievers I won’t recommend them as guards.
31. I am not slacking off!
This handsome boxer of a dog was there in the backyard to guard that place. To see if he is qualified for being a guard, his parents decided to pretend like strangers and tried to infiltrate the area. Surprise! The dog was overqualified from the job.
This is not yet a fully grown great dane but she already knows how to properly guard a house. Look at that size and build, a pure pedigree. This is her meanest look as of the moment — she will improve one of these days.
If you see a ‘beware of the dog’ sign in someone else’s house, you’re expecting a mean canine. However, in this particular photo, a rottweiler appeared to be very friendly. The rottweiler even asked the mailman if he needed help distributing letters.
This photo was taken in the 1950s by a photographer named D. Corson. Never judge a book by its cover, this pup may be small but has she might have the strength to take down some foes.
When you see the sign you should always be prepared. Be prepared to face a monster or something very unusual just like this photo. There are no dogs but he is surely funny.
Every photo has a story to tell and every dog behind that warning sign is not as scary as what we thought it could be. Which one is your favorite?
