A bear in New Hampshire decided it was time for a lunch break recently, but not in the woods or by a river.

Instead, it climbed into a work truck in Sunapee.

On June 14, Milinda Stark Scott, the proud owner of American Plate Glass, couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw a bear making itself comfortable in one of their trucks, munching away on some snacks.

In a video she shared, you can hear Curtis Fiedler, an employee, asking Scott over FaceTime, “What do you think is in that truck right now?”

The camera then reveals the unexpected guest: a black bear, happily feasting inside the truck.

The scene is almost comical, with the bear’s paw casually hanging out of the window.

The reactions of the onlookers are priceless.

One exclaims, “It’s a freaking black bear, eating Charlie’s nuts in the front seat of the truck!”

Another chimes in about how the bear managed to get inside, “It climbed through the open window.”

The group bursts into laughter, with Scott relaying the hilarious incident over the phone.

The backstory?

The employees were wrapping up a job and moving their tools when they spotted the furry intruder.

Joey Carter, one of the workers, described the scene, “I ran up to find the bear eating nuts. The bear sat there for five to 10 minutes and then grabbed my cooler.”

Scott initially thought someone was playing a prank on her, thinking it was a person in a bear costume.

But no, it was a real bear!

She recalled, “The bear was sitting like a human with his arm out the window.”

It seemed the bear had a particular liking for Charlie’s trail mix, which he had in his lunchbox every day.

Post snack time, the team tried various tactics to get the bear to leave.

Scott narrated, “Tim jumped up on one of our vans and started waving his hands at the bear.”

But the bear, perhaps still hungry, moved from one lunchbox to another. However, it met its match with a red lunchbox that had a tricky zipper.

Frustrated, the bear eventually hopped out of the truck.

Surprisingly, the truck was left unscathed.

Scott remarked, “There was no damage. You would never know other than that the bear ate Charlie’s nuts and we all saw it.”

After its adventure, the bear decided to take a short nap nearby, only to later observe the workers from a distance.

The company had a blast sharing their unique encounter on social media.

Scott humorously posted, “Clark’s Trading Post are you missing a Bear? American Plate Glass has hired him for the summer.”

However, the bear, affectionately named “Barry,” had a short stint at the company.

They later joked, “‘Barry’ the bear has unfortunately been terminated from American Plate Glass due to stealing, working out of uniform, and having ‘bear’ feet in the glass industry.”

The hilarity resulted in a heartwarming gesture from “Barry the hungry Bear,” where someone sent dome replacement peanuts to Charlie on “Barry’s” behalf.

On a touching note, Scott, who used to run the business with her late husband Doug, saw the bear’s visit as a spiritual sign.

She remembered her husband, who passed away nine months prior, always snacking in the passenger seat.

She emotionally shared, “He would sit in that seat with his arm out that window… And I went, ‘Oh, my God. It’s Doug.’ I believe he sends us messages regularly.”
