There’s something about baby animals that makes them just irresistible.

Even the toughest manly men can melt at the sight of a puppy – and there’s actually a biological reason for that.

We all have powerful nurturing instincts for human babies.

From an evolutionary perspective, finding a baby “cute” increases the urge to protect the child while he or she is still in his most vulnerable stage of life.

Scientists think that we feel affection not only for the babies of humankind, but also those that even slightly resemble them.

While baby animals might have a few more legs than humans, there are still some similarities.

The big, innocent eyes, the high-pitched noises of communication, the adorable toddle of someone that isn’t yet used to using their own two legs… it’s all just too darn cute.

If you’re a die-hard fan of all things babies, you’ll love this video – it features babies of the human and goat kind.

Sometimes, the simplest, purest videos are the best.

Why would you want to do anything else with the next 52 seconds of your life when you could watch a baby goat hanging out with a toddler?

In the video, filmed by mom, we’re treated with an adorable barnyard scene: a tiny goat, who looks to be only a few days old, and a little boy toddling around together.

At first, it seems the little boy isn’t sure what to make of his new best friend.

He backs away and makes a few noises that sound like protest – but when he turns around, he’s got that super-cute toddler grin on his face.

Mom reassures her son, telling him,

“He just wants to be with you.”

And that’s certainly true, as the moment the little boy sits down, the baby goat is right there at his side!

The pair look like something out of a “cute babies” calendar.

The baby goat (who’s called Jack – too sweet) has clearly marked the toddler as one of his own.

Perhaps there’s something familiar to him about the little boy’s toddling walk and little-kid innocence. Or maybe he can just sense that he’s found someone who’s up for hours of fun and playtime.

Of course, baby goats do grow up a bit quicker than baby humans.

Jack the goat will have stood on his own two feet within minutes of being born. Compare this to babies, who learn to walk within 6 to 18 months after birth.

But hey, it’s not a competition – and maybe the pair can learn something from each other.

Most children aren’t lucky enough to get to hang out with farm animals like this.

Sure, you probably visited the farm a lot when you were a kid, but to get to sit with your own gang of goats whenever you fancy? That would have been pretty cool.

It looks as if this little boy might live on a farm, or has family members who are involved in farming.

The video was only posted at the start of this month, but it’s already been viewed more than 16,000 times.
