Animals have their own little quirks.
We notice how our pets are sometimes silly with their little antics that even if they’re a big naughty, we still laugh at what they’re doing.
But don’t count wild animals in the quirky, fun creatures list because they are!
They may be gigantic or scary, but they have a fun side, too!
This dancing baby elephant is here to prove that.
With his enjoyable dance number, the elephant graced the tourists and onlookers near Sabi Sands Game Reserve that bordered Kruger National Park in South Africa.
He seemed to enjoy the moment, and we’re not complaining because it’s too cute to ignore.
The elephant started swaying his trunk and trotting his feet.
He was like it was taking tiny little steps in perfect rhythm, but that’s not even the climax of his performance yet.
The baby elephant sure knew how to keep his audience on their toes with these subtle movements at first, which was already fun to watch.
He paced the pavement with each trot, bobbing his head and flapping his ears.
The elephant’s movements started getting more intense and energetic, and you could tell he enjoyed the attention.
You can see how every move of his feet, head, trunk, and ears is perfectly synchronized, and that’s what made this performance so impressive.
Henry Mancini’s “Baby Elephant Walk” was the perfect background music for this clip, no argument there.
This piece was composed by Mancini in 1961 for the adventure romantic comedy Hatari which was released the year after.
The upbeat musical tune was used in an impromptu scene in the movie showing one of the main characters leading three baby elephants to a waterhole bath.
This piece also won the Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement.
We can say this song was meant for this captured moment.
Although the elephant didn’t dance to this music, the one who uploaded the video used the iconic Mancini piece, which fit perfectly with the elephant’s steps.
It’s like he’s dancing in perfect rhythm, which made it more fun to watch.
The baby elephant moved closer to his audience as other herd members crossed the street.
He did not mind that his elders were witnessing all these; he was only there to enjoy and give one heck of a performance.
The young elephant moved so gracefully; it’s hard to believe that one of the largest land mammals on Earth is this light on his feet.
The baby elephant’s performance ended when he got distracted by a rock.
He found a rock at the side of the trail while dancing and got sidetracked by it – like any other child, right?
But he did not end his masterful dance number without bowing and waving to his adoring fans.
But can elephants actually dance?
Not dance per se, but their graceful movements make it look like they are.
All the trunk and tail swaying, head bobbing, ear flapping, and skipping are part of their stereotypic behavior.
