Clydesdale horses are always a joy to watch.
Many of us adored this breed because they can grow as big as 72 inches tall and 2,000 pounds heavy, but they are the friendliest breed out there. If you ever tried riding one of them as a kid, you know that they’re less skittish than most.
This breed of horses originated in Scotland.
These draft horses are native of Lanarkshire, Scotland, and were later improved in 1715 by mating the pure breed local mares with a Flemish stalling.
It was only until 1842 when the Clydesdales were taken to North America.
While this breed was originally used to do farm work – like pulling agricultural tools and equipment, hauling logs, and pulling milk and freight wagons, they are now mostly used for sports, fairs, and exhibits.
There are a lot of horse fairs and exhibits in the country.
Most of the time, you’ll see Clydesdales in every show. Some of them are drum horses carrying a heavy drum weighing 120 pounds or more. Plus, the officer who rides it. Often, you’ll see them in a team of other Clydesdales.
In these shows, they go in groups and strut, slowly showing off their beauty.
These gentle giants walk gently – almost like in slow motion – as they travel back and forth in perfect unison. People often applaud shows such as these.
But this baby Clydesdale stole the show.
Joker ran inside the stadium and just had the zoomies while his mom was performing for the Broken Spoke Clydesdale’s at Reno Rodeo last June. He was bolting from one point to another, looked like
The little guy just got the crowd’s attention, much to their delight.
He’s steering the attention of the audience from his mom to him. He’s just so proud of his mom, and he’s got to show it. Yes, by running around!
Even the announcer can’t help but mention his entrance.
In this video shared by Broken Spoke Clydesdale’s Facebook page, you can even hear the crowd cheer and clap. We think they’re just as entertain looking at Joker as they were watching the performers.
However, this will most likely happen, especially for an unweaned foal.
It will take at least six months for a Clydesdale foal to get weaned. Before that, they often follow their mother around as they want to always be on their mother’s side. This is probably why Joker wants to stay close to his mom even during the performance.
People on YouTube had that same joke about this situation.
Most of them commented that this seems like a mother who probably left her child and was told to stay still, only to be notified by other parents about a running kid – hers. The jokes were well understood by mothers who probably had a kid like Joker.
Joker also found the way out of the stadium.
He exited the place looking happy and proud of what he had done. He even led the entire team out of there. He is one proud baby, and it shows by the way he struts.
