It only took two hours for Yezhu to figure out she belongs with Biu Biu and she's been sitting on him ever since. No matter how big she's gotten. πŸ—πŸ₯°

A young wild boar had come accidentally into the lives of Dora, Biu Biu, Benjamin, and Ginger.

Dora Ngai, a Chinese jeweler, and vlogger currently based in Sri Lanka shared that her gardener found a baby boar, who looked to be a few weeks old.

He searched for the mother everywhere but eventually came to the conclusion no wanted to.

The baby boar was abandoned.

He knew Dora was an animal lover and took the chance that she might take in this young boar.

He was right, Dora loved her.

Dora fell in love with her and took her into her home. Besides, in Sri Lanka, there were no wild animal rescue shelters. It was either they take her in or leave her in the wild.

Plus, wild boars were considered a pest in Sri Lanka. If they left her to fend for herself, she wouldn’t last long.

“We couldn’t leave her by herself. We decided to call our vet friend and do the work ourselves,” Dora shared.

She named her Yezhu (pronounced Yay-zhoo).

Her name means “wild boar” in Chinese.

Everyone loved Yezhu right away, including Dora’s yellow lab, Biu Biu. But Dora had no idea what was in store for them when she took Yezhu in.

β€œI had no idea taking care of her would be this tiring,” Dora explained. β€œEvery hour she would wake up and start crying for food. Everyone in the house started taking turns to feed her, including our Biu Biu. He’s always waiting there to clean her up.”

Biu Biu took on the role of “Dad”.

It didn’t matter that they weren’t even the same species. Biu Biu loves Yezhu and Yezhu loves Biu Biu, too.

Biu Biu constantly watched over the young boar and cuddled her during their naps.

Biu Biu did this when Yezhu was only two pounds.

He still snuggles her at 62 lbs.

This yellow lab dad taught her everything she needs to know about living in the Ngai house.

She learned how to eat solid food because she saw Biu Biu eating solid food. Just like any dad, Biu Biu let Yezhu eat out of his own bowl first before she moved to her own bowl.

He taught her to swim and play.

When Yezhu was younger, she and Biu Biu cuddled each other during naps, with Biu Biu using her as his pillow.

When she got bigger, the tables turned and she started using Biu Biu as her pillow.

After a year, Yezhu needed some space.

Dora decided to build Yezhu her own condo outside the house so she could have her freedom. Even so, she still follows Biu Biu and the other dogs everywhere.

“I’m just so grateful that Biu Biu was with us throughout this entire journey helping raise Yezhu. They’re each other’s family and will always look out for each other. I don’t know what we would have done without him,” Dora said about Biu Biu.
