As coronavirus doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, many countries around the world are still in lockdown in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus and keep pressure off the hospitals. As a result of this, cities that are normally bustling are now eerily quiet and deserted.
But in an unexpected twist of events, some new inhabitants are coming to hang out in our cities — wild animals.
These furry, fanged, and sometimes dangerous creatures have been spotted roaming in different cities all over the world, and seeing them out enjoying our cities is certainly putting a smile on our faces — so much so that we decided to put together a list of our favorite snaps and videos posted within the last few weeks.
1) This Unauthorised Stag Party
This breathtaking snap taken in Harold Hill in Romford, East London, shows a group of male deer just chilling on the grass in a suburban area.
It is normally unheard of for deer to come so close to humans, as they commonly tend to be quite shy and will build their homes in countryside parks. So it’s just amazing that these guys have now decided to hang out directly outside people’s houses!
2) The Mountain Lions Just Making Sure That You’re Not Leaving Your Houses
With mountain lions literally patrolling our front gardens, we’re certain that there’s absolutely no way that we’d be stepping outside right now, coronavirus or not.
This terrifying pic was apparently taken in Boulder, Colorado, and it shows the three huge beasts just taking a casual stroll through the neighborhood.
3) These Lambs Doing Their Morning Exercise
Whilst we’re struggling to get through our daily fitness video, these lambs are having the time of their lives out in a deserted park in Preston.
It’s just adorable that the park can still be enjoyed by the young. We wish we had as much energy as them!
4) This Tiny Guy Taking A Nap
If this little guy lived outside our house, we’d have to fight off a seriously strong urge to adopt him.
Although they commonly live in urban areas, foxes are normally quite shy and would only usually show themselves at night, when they’re awake.
But this fluffy ball of cuteness seems to have now decided that it’s safe enough to sleep on top of this tree trunk during the day since there’s barely a human in sight anymore!
5) A Curious Coyote
This amazing shot was taken in San Francisco with a zoom lens from inside the photographer’s car. Apparently this little cutie has been frequenting the area a lot, and there’s even a sign advising pedestrians to not feed the coyote.
We bet the poor guy doesn’t know what the deal is now that there are no friendly humans to give him tasty treats.
6) Finally, This Absolutely NUTS Video
A video posted by TMZ shows a park in Santa Monica, California that’s absolutely chock-full of squirrels!
The fluffy little creatures are having the time of their lives as they roam the empty park, running up and down the pavement, eating grass and even taking part in a spot of sunbathing.
Watching the squirrels enjoying themselves so much is enough to put a smile on our faces whilst we’re still inside!
