Cats get a bad rap for being antisocial. But when they’re in the right mood they can be a lot like dogs when they see you.

This cat is pretty stoked to see his pal, as evidenced by the high-five he’s handing out.

Whenever we see non-human primates acting like humans, we find it humbling. We treat these animals so poorly sometimes and yet we have so much in common with them.

This orangutan is even lending a hand in a case where most humans wouldn’t.

We don’t know the context here, but this is not something we expected to see!

We’re not even sure how a cat got anywhere near a dolphin.

But clearly, these two are good bros.

While we prefer to keep our heads out of the mouths of others while we sleep (you know, just for safety), these tender moments of a cat and dog pal warmed our hearts right up.

Most interspecies relationships are ones of mere acceptance, but these two really are best buds.

So, we’re starting to think cats are just unfriendly to humans (sometimes). They seem to get along with even the most unlikely of creatures.

These two pups are clearly having some unique fun and enabling one another when it comes to playing with toys that don’t belong to them.

Well, if we’ve learned anything from looking through this subreddit it’s that cows are real bros – much more so than we had ever imagined!

We had to laugh at this particular interaction too – now dogs know how WE feel!

Despite the use of the past tense in the title, both of these beautiful horses are still around. Jaco is still looking out for Elona.

We don’t imagine a lot of blind horses are allowed to live out their lives, so this is an especially sweet photo.

Moms are such moms – no matter what their species. If you’re young and scared, you can usually count on a nearby mom to be a so-called “bro.”

We’re not sure how these kitties feel about her intervention, but at least they’re not freaking out.

Dogs do love water bottles for some reason, so we’re surprised this one let them all go so they could be recycled.

Have you ever picked up this much recycling in a day?

This dog is taking better care of the planet than most humans are!

Well this is an unlikely group! One can only hope that once these cats are bigger they don’t do anything to hurt their German Shepherd pal.

But the dog seems pretty confident that this relationship is going to work out, at least in the short term.

Friends help us get through our scary moments. And it looks like these furry bros and making a trip to the vet more bearable.

Just look at that sweet paw around the shoulder.

It’s like he’s saying “you can do this.”

This one made us say “aww” out loud.

Knowing that his best buddy was in trouble, this pup decided he’d help him take the punishment.

Doggo is standing by just to make sure his kiddo is ok.

Neither dogs nor ducks can smile, technically, and yet it totally looks like they’re both grinning for this photo.

We love these unlikely pals – although we’re not sure how we’d feel about keeping a duck in the house (since they can’t be house trained).

Well this is certainly a cruelty-free way to get a nice, wooly nap!

It won’t work for humans to just sleep on the sheep, but they certainly don’t mind being still for some cat naps.

Both cats and dogs use their heads to get people’s attention (in an affectionate way), but there’s no human needed in this equation.

Well, except to take the photo.

We would almost consider running a race if we knew this dog would be there handing out high-fives for encouragement.

Well, technically his human is doing it, but he’s being a real bro for putting up with it.

Once again with the house pets and dolphins. Where are these meetings taking place?!

While we’ve never seen these two species interact before, we still didn’t expect them to be smoochers.

We’ll grant that the first second or two of this video is super stressful.

But can you believe how fast and efficient that save was? The pup reacted without even thinking.

We’re not sure what’s in that bowl, but since it’s up so high we can only guess it’s NOT something for the rooster.

But sometimes you want the forbidden fruit – and having a furry pal to help you pull off the heist is pretty great.

Many new parents worry about cats around kids, but the truth is that it can be a wonderful relationship (though it’s hard to tell at first).

It looks like these two are bros though – the cat was the only thing the baby seemed to need to stop crying.

We don’t know if giraffes are thankful but this one sure looks like it’s hugging back.

You can’t really force a giraffe to hug since they have to bend down pretty far.

So perhaps the gesture originated with the giraffe!

Aww, we remember this story.

While the stray has a comfy new home, he can’t bear the thought of other animals not having warmth and affection. So he dragged over his blanket to share.

We can’t imagine how stressful it would be to have to evacuate for a fire. And it has to be devastating to not know where your pet is in all this.

This good boy was waiting right where his family once lived.

It’s both a sweet and sad photo.

We love this!

Most cats would just mock you from inside the house, but this kitty put a lot of effort into getting that latch open to let its owner in.

This Husky ran off and couldn’t find his way back home. But when it was caught on a trail camera and returned to its owner, they also got some footage showing that he had made some new friends.

He was never really alone out there, thanks to his deer and buck bros.

This really made us laugh. We hate seeing wild animals confined for the enjoyment of others, but it’s amazing just how much this bear has learned to mimic people.

The two of them jumping up and down is something we hope this kiddo remembers forever.

Now THAT is being a bro.

This dog (off-screen at first) swoops in to make its human stop teasing the other doggo with a bone.

He delivers justice.

Can we get in this sleeping bag?

These cuddlebugs are keeping each other warm while getting some fresh air and we have to admit we’re pretty jealous of all those furry snuggles.

Aww, this kiddo is not happy, but doggo wants to turn his frown upside down – or at least comfort him in his sadness.

Just look at the way he puts his paw around the little tyke.

Dogs are so great.

We wonder if the dog wondered why the human was so useless in this situation.

Do they have to do everything themselves?

Well, they will. Because they’re just that committed to being bros.

There’s something so touching about watching this chimp feed the fish.

It’s such a human thing to do! But he’s capable of enjoying it just the same.

And we’re sure the fish are thankful.

This pelican befriended a stray dog that hung out down by the docks.

And it was that friendship that allowed the dog to be noticed and adopted.

Now that’s some good bro karma!

When you can no longer work up the effort to take care of yourself, you’d be lucky to have a friend like this kitty.

He’s happy to give his friend a bath without making it weird.

We’ve never even thought about the need for dogs to donate blood!

But this fella looks pretty darn proud of himself for helping to save some canine lives.

This dog doesn’t seem to mind going to the monkey salon for a grooming.

It’s pretty nice of them to clean him up too!

It looks like the service came with a complimentary head massage. Jealous!

Dogs aren’t just man’s best friend, they have friends in their own species as well – and they’re happy to be there when needed.

Every time we see this photo someone starts cutting onions nearby.

We’d wear that hat! But the dog looks cuter in it.

We suspect this kitty is keeping his head warm and giving him a little massage with all that purring.

That’s too funny. We don’t know if this dog is just bossy or what, but he likes to walk the family puppy.

So is he the family’s bro or the newcomer’s?

That hug!

Can you imagine if your dog just grabbed you and gave you a hug? We’d be smiling for hours.

We’re not sure if this puppy appreciates the love, but we sure do.

This cat just seemed to get what was going on.

And instead of being jealous, it helps protect that newborn baby.

That’s a pretty special dynamic!

Apparetly, ostrich feathers are pretty cozy. We just wouldn’t have thought that was the case while they were still attached to the ostrich!

We’ve never seen such a combo before, so this photo is a real treat!

Cats get it. They know when you’re sick or just bummed.

And while they might not always be as on top of the matter (quite literally) as dogs, they do make it known that they want you to feel better.

Because who else is going to feed them?

But she persisted, kept her heart open, and one day found true love with a rhino named Emilka at Dvur Kralove in the Czech Republic. Mia and Emilka look forward to seeing each other every day. We’d have to bust out the camera for this moment too.

Our hearts can hardly handle how cute it is when animals put their paws on each other’s shoulders.

This owl decided to keep raising the duckling is accidentally saved.

The mothering instinct is clearly very strong!

And they make quite a pair too.

Dogs are always happy to see us when we get home, but THIS is the reaction we want!

More dogs and hugs, please.

Interesting. So cats will be friends with cows AND horses.

They’re perfectly capable of grooming themselves, but this horse looks like he really wants to help out his friend.

It’s nice when your friends help out after you’ve had some health issues.

No one likes the cone of shame, but at least this cat won’t have to worry about dirty hair!

This seagull is better than half our town is at social distancing.
