What are the two most beautiful creatures on Earth? Easy!
Babies and dogs, of course!
It’s because they beam with love such love and beauty that they can’t help but melt your heart.
All they want is to love and be loved.
And that’s just so pure.
They are both cute creatures in themselves. But when babies and dogs come together, well, that’s double the cuteness. That’s basically what happened when 14-month-old Ely and Duke met.
It was your classic situation of double cuteness.
Actually, I think you’d have to call this one triple cuteness.
Because on top of the baby and dog combining their forces of cuteness, the double cuteness was then amplified again by it being the first time Ely had ever met a dog in real life.
This baby spent 14-long-months without ever seeing a dog in the flesh!
Poor kid! But that missed time didn’t matter much at all when Ely laid eyes on the furry muppet of a doggo.
Ely’s mouth immediately fell into an “O” when he saw that pup.
It was a mix of shock and excitement.
Then his mouth dropped as his excitement started to grow the closer he stepped toward the big shaggy dog.
That excitement then turns into a happy dance of sorts where Ely just tipped back and front and side to side when he was about a foot away from Duke.
That happy dance got a lot happier and turned into a foot stomp.
Then Ely decided he wanted to get a close look so he leaned down to meet Duke eye-to-eye.
That’s when Duke tried to give Ely some love and plant a big ole’ kiss on him.
But Ely wasn’t ready for that.
But he still wanted to get to know Duke better. The toddler was pretty shocked when he realized that Duke could talk. The video of these two cuties becoming best friends ended up going viral. It was viewed more than 2.7 million times on YouTube.
“This makes my day seem so much brighter. Such pure joy. God bless this child,” wrote one YouTuber.
“The way he tippy taps with delight, that child is precious!” said another.
“So, we really not going to talk about Eli’s outfit? His parents have him looking fresh from head to toe!” and another.
Both your dog and child might need a little training before they are introduced.
“Dogs and children can be a great combination if your dog has learned how to behave around kids. Some dogs love children and seem to naturally know how to act around them,” The Spruce Pets says.
But that might not be the case for all dogs. Learn more on introducing dogs and children here.
