Mork (full name Mork Skywalker, naturally) is a dog with a special story.

This Baby Yoda lookalike was rescued from China’s meat trade industry by an amazing organization called Harbin SHS. Poor Mork was extremely unwell. He was very weak and had to be taken to a hospital, where the little guy almost died.

Amazingly, he made an astonishing recovery, and within time, Mork was able to be brought to the USA by Road Dogs & Rescue, where he was adopted by the founder, Nikki Carvey.

Although this little guy has the features of a bulldog or a pug, authorities refuse to run a DNA test on him.

The adorable pup has lots of health issues that may have come from crossbreeding, so it’s important that others who think he’s cute don’t try to replicate his breed.

Luckily, we don’t need to know what kinda dog Mork is to appreciate his Baby Yoda inspired adorableness!

Mork now lives with mom Nikki in the US, and he has plenty of other rescue brothers and sisters to keep him company, including this adorable cross-eyed little fur baby. Don’t they make a charming pair?

Mork’s past has been incredibly traumatic, and speaking to Bored Panda, Nikki was able to reflect on how far he has come.

“Mork is a survivor,” she said. “He was rescued, along with a bunch of other dogs, from a meat truck in China, by Harbin SHS. Sadly, some people still think it is cool to eat dogs there, and many unwanted dogs are sold to the meat trade,’.

Sadly, since he was rescued in October last year, Mork has been left with some illnesses that he will have to deal with for life.

He weighed only 12.4 pounds when he was first taken in, and he suffers from irritable bowel disease as well as difficulty breathing and heart issues because of his crossbreeding.

But Mork is a survivor and is improving every day! Having already gained five pounds, Mork is “sweet and friendly and learning about love.”

So what does Nikki make of her fur baby being compared to Baby Yoda?

She told Bored Panda:

“The whole Baby Yoda comparison is fun, and he brings a lot of joy. I feel his story touches people’s hearts and we’ve had some beautiful messages from individuals who are struggling, who say that he makes them smile and inspires them,”

He truly is an inspiring little pup, and we can’t wait to see more adorable pics of him!
