Remember when we were kids and our parents had to lull us to sleep? Sometimes, they even read us our favorite fairytale just before they turn off our lamps. But since a lot of us treat our pets as our cuddly children, we do the same for them too. The same goes for this lovely pooch who just got used to this kind of treatment from his mom that he cannot sleep without it anymore.
He just refuses to sleep without his mom.
An adorable Border collie dog named Fusion lives with Steffi Trott, a woman who also happened to be a professional dog trainer. Although their relationship is not just a trainer-dog relationship, Steffi also acts like his mom.
“We spend all day, every day together,” Steffi told The Dodo. “Either at work or relaxing, or playing frisbee or doing dog agility or learning tricks.”
For seven years of being with her, Fusion has learned over 150 different commands, all taught by her mom. Steffi alone had worked hard to get Fusion to learn different tricks. However, the dog also picked up his own adorable habit where he just refuses to sleep without his mom tucked him into his own bed.
It started when Steffi’s son insisted on tucking Fusion in.
One day, maybe as Steffi was tucking in his own 10-year old son to bed, the kid suggested what if she would do the same with Fusion. Steffi thought the idea was worth a try and so she began tucking the beautiful Border Collie into bed. She was not expecting that it would work out great, but it magically did. In the following days, she found out that Fusion could not sleep without his mom wrapping him with his blanket and giving him a smooch.
“I think Fusion took a liking to it. Now it is a solid part of our evening routine,” she shared.

Steffi told The Dodo how she knew when Fusion was ready for bed. Apparently, it happens that every night, her two other dogs would immediately snooze onto their beds whereas Fusion just sits in his, waiting for his mom to come to him.

Although there are just times when his siblings just decide to be silly and steal his own bed, so Fusion goes to Steffi’s bed instead and waited for her to get another bed for him from downstairs. Aren’t they just precious?

It did not take long for the internet to know about Fusion’s adorable nighttime routine with his mom as news spread about them like fire. Border collies are highly intelligent dogs and may be the reason why Steffi decided to get one.

A Border Collie dog is basically bred for herding cattle and other farm animals. These dogs are highly intelligent, and they are also athletic and hardworking, making them perfect trainable dogs. It is just amazing how Steffi managed to stuff over 150 commands into him.
