One day, a pedestrian walking around in Middlesex, England couldn’t believe what just happened. The pedestrian witnessed a pup violently being thrown out of a moving van in a relentless act.

It’s absolutely horrendous that this pup was being treated like this, but that wasn’t even the worst part.

Rescuers believe that the pup was being abused in a puppy farm, and she was forced to deliver puppy after puppy.

The dog’s body couldn’t take it anymore. Instead of getting her the help she needed, the breeders decided to dispose of her by throwing her out like trash in the middle of the road.

These puppy mills are absolutely terrible and put the mother dogs in the most disastrous living conditions. Their only purpose for the breeders is to deliver puppies and make money. It’s a downright scandalous practice. This pug, later named Peggy, was one of those abused dogs.

Luckily, Peggy wasn’t severely injured by the fall from the moving van. However, her medical condition wasn’t good at all.

The pug was severely malnourished, and a large part of her fur was missing.

Breeding so much puppies in a short period of time put a toll on a pup’s body, and Peggy just couldn’t take it anymore. In addition, rescuers described the pup’s personality as “very scared and nervous.”

Luckily, Peggy ended up getting the help and care she deserves at the Millbrook Animal Centre in Chobham after the pedestrian took her to an animal shop nearby.

“We think, over time, because her skin was getting worse and worse, they decided that they didn’t want to take her to the vet and pay for the treatment. So I think that because the skin got in such a terrible state, they decided to dump her and stop breeding from her rather than get her the treatment she needed,” deputy manager Liz Wood told.

“Her body shows signs that she’s been overbred and had litter after litter after litter.”

“When you look in Peggy’s eyes you can see the emotional, mental scars that her sad life has left her with. When you look at her body you see the physical ones.”

Liz has been taking care of Peggy ever since the animal center took her in. The rescuers can’t stress enough that it’s important to check and verify if dogs are being treated well if you come into contact with a breeder. Unfortunately, police were unable to find the perpetrators.

The animal rescuer recalls her first encounter with Peggy, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking.

“Poor Peggy was in a real state. Physically she was withdrawn, skinny and was losing a lot of her fur.”

“Mentally you could see she was scarred too, you could see the sadness in her eyes – God knows what she’d been through for most of her little life.”

“It was clear to me that she’d been bred from multiple times and had obviously had quite a few litters. I suspect she’d been kept as a breeding machine to produce puppies which could be sold on for large numbers.”

“Then, when she came to the end of her shelf life, they discarded her like rubbish. It’s heartbreaking and utterly despicable to treat a dog like a disposable object.”

After weeks of fostering and tender loving care, the rescuers already started to the notice the differences.

Slowly but surely, Peggy’s condition improved and she started opening up again.

“She’s growing in confidence and is starting to come out of her shell,” Liz said.

“We’re starting to see her cheeky side now. She barks when she wants food and she makes funny little grunting noises when she is pleased to see you – her whole body wags, it’s adorable.”

“She’s such a sweet dog and will make a wonderful companion for someone. Once she’s back to full health we’ll be looking for a new home for her – and I’m sure won’t struggle to find one.”

One of Liza’s co-workers at the animal rescue organization is looking to adopt her, so it appears Peggy will have a loving home again very soon.

An amazing rescue story.
