A Panther is not only agile and strong, but it’s also very intelligent. They are one of the most agile predators in the wild, but they don’t attack humans unless they feel threatened or provoked.
That’s why it’s better not to approach them for your own safety. However, as they say, there’s always an exemption to every rule. That is a reason why this black panther is being raised by her human mom and her dog.
Meet Luna, the beautiful black panther who lives with a human mom and her Rottweiler sibling.
Luna’s mother rejected her and refused to feed her on her seventh day after her birth. The poor cub was even thrown out of the nest.
Why do some animals reject their own babies?
According to Viovet:
“If an infant is weak, small, or defective, mothers will instinctively abandon or cull the animal to concentrate their resources on the stronger babies that stand a greater chance of surviving.”
Luna didn’t have the chance to survive on her own.
Thankfully, a woman who already had a similar experience of taking care of a wild animal came across Luna’s case. Of course, the kind-hearted woman won’t abandon this beautiful baby.
Luna needed extra care; she needed to be fed round-the-clock, she needed vitamins, and most of all, she needed the warmth of a loving mother.
According to Victoria, Luna’s rescuer, the zoo management wanted to sell the cub, but because she fell in love with it, she decided to adopt her and be her family.
Now, Luna is a part of her family, and guess what! Luna now has a rottweiler sibling named Venza!
While Victoria was a bit nervous about the two meeting each other, she didn’t expect that they would build such a beautiful friendship! It was a start of a beautiful family.
Venza and Luna became inseparable, they enjoy playing in the snow, they love walks together, and they even groom each other.
Of course, like any sibling game, they also love to play fight.
Today, Luna has grown so much and is considered a normal, extra-large house kitten! Last February, Victoria posted an update on Instagram.
She said that Luna is now 9 months old, and weighs a whopping 20.9 kg!
Luna has her own set of social media accounts such as a YouTube channel, TikTok account, and her Instagram page with 192K followers.
Many people have learned to love this cub ever since they heard about her story. In fact, many even donate and help Victoria with her expenses. However, Luna has also been receiving some concerns about what happens to her when she becomes an adult, or if she will have a mate, and if Victoria plans to release her to the wild.
Victoria, on the other hand, tries her best to answer all of these queries to assure Luna’s fans that she is being well taken care of.
Look at her, she has big expressive eyes, and is very playful. She loves Victoria and Venza, and they often have fun together!
Luna may have been abandoned by her mother, but she was able to meet her fur-mom Victoria, and together with Venza, they all live a happy life.
