They say the internet was made for cats. Considering all the pictures we’ve uploaded of them, that’s easy to believe. From Nyan to Grumpy Cat, the internet community is in love with felines. Why wouldn’t they be? These are the most adorable and hilarious pets we could ask for.
Of course, it’s not just the internet that’s flooded with cat pictures. Go on any social media site and you’ll find photos and videos galore. We just can’t stop memorializing our feline friends and sharing them with the world.
After Snapchat was introduced a few years ago, our pets made their way onto that platform, too. It was easier than ever to capture a quick picture of your cat doing — well, whatever cats do.
But it’s not just Snapchat. You’ll find entire Facebook pages dedicated to pictures of cute cats. The same goes for YouTube channels, Instagram accounts, and even Twitter handles. Yes, we love dogs too, but the internet has a special fondness for cats. And by the way, even though dogs outnumber cats as pets in the United States, about 38 percent of American households own at least one cat. There’s no doubt that cats are always and forever close to our hearts.
