50 photos of pets sitting in the strangest positions

Pets are so lovably weird sometimes. You just have to look at them and wonder “what are you thinking?” (or “how can that be comfortable?”).

Just about every day we catch our pets sleeping in odd positions – but just sitting there like a weirdo is less common.

Earlier in June, a woman posted three photos of her dog sitting on his butt, like a human – and boy was he cute!

Well, that sure opened the floodgates!

Now, HUNDREDS of people have replied with photos of their own dogs (and a few cats as well) sitting in odd positions.

1. The OG

We just love the look on this dog’s sweet face in the original poster’s photos.

This good girl looks like she was just trying to catch a moment to herself to relax on the couch when all of a sudden the paparazzi showed up.

She’s probably thinking, “Great, another unflattering photo of me on the Internet.”

4. A cat on the butt is worth two in the…wait

This is the second of only a handful of cats submitted to the thread.

But we’ve never seen a cat sit on its tooshie like that while looking out the window. It’s hind legs AND tail are all tucked forward.

13. The bulldog squat

A lot of bulldogs sit this way simply because of how they’re built.

Short legs and a big behind mean they tend to splay their legs or cast them off to one side while sitting right on their bums.

14. Does sir desire a chair?

This dog is above sitting on the floor like some peasant.

If he must, he will sit on a step, but sir prefers a comfy chair and is clearly displeased that no one is meeting the request.

15. Super sploot

The “sploot” is our favorite dog resting position even though it reminds us of our failed attempts to do frog pose in yoga class.

Dogs tend to do this if they need to stretch their back legs or to increase contact with the floor or ground to cool off more of their bodies.
