They beg. They cry. They’ll even steal them. Treats… our dogs love their treats and will do just about anything for them.
Photographer Christian Vieler probably knows this better than most. He works as a full-time dog photographer. That’s how he became intrigued by the beautiful expressions of joy and urgency that overcome dogs when treats are involved.
Vieler’s book “Treat” is a hilarious compilation of portraits of our four-legged friends the moment they catch or consume a mouth-watering treat. Each photograph captures the dog’s unique personality shows them at some of their most expressive moments.
You can get a copy of “Treat” here, check out Vieler’s website here, his Instagram page here, and his Facebook page here.
1) Treats Are Where The Heart Is
“After more than 500 developed snapshots I know: they bring dogs even closer to our hearts,”
Vieler says on his website, according to a Google Translation of German. “In the snapshot, we experience our best friends as we rarely can in everyday life. In their faces, we recognize panic, joy, fear of loss, sheer desire and the peak of pleasure.”
2) The Human Side Of Dogs
Vieler says his photos show the human side of dogs.
“This is great Hollywood style cinema, as we otherwise only know of people. It’s a little revelation: the dog shows us human sides and maybe a dog at the same time.”
