Dads are usually the ones to have the strongest argument against getting a new pet. They simply don’t want one in the house, and that’s final. However, they’re also known for another phenomenon – quickly forgetting they said that once the new pet arrives.
For some reason, it is dads who fall in love the fastest once that dog or cat is actually in the house. We’ve compiled proof. Here are fifty of our favorites:
#1 He said he was more of a cat person
He also said he didn’t want the dog in the bed. This is how the two of them can be found every morning.
He swore he was opposed to getting a dog. When Gaston arrived, dad was the first one to decide that the dog needed his own bed and night table.
He said he hated a cat and would never accept one. This is him and Linus now.
#4 “No animals allowed inside!”
He said he didn’t want any animals in the house. Now, he willingly gives the bed up to the cat rather than disturb her nap time.
#5 “Not on the furniture!”
He said that if they got a pet, it wouldn’t be allowed on the furniture. Several days later, he was already asking the cat if she would like a pillow moved so she could have more space on the chair.
He was sure he didn’t want a dog. When he saw this one at the shelter, he started crying. This is the picture of them on their way home.
#7 He never let them have a pet
It took years and years to convince him to let them have a pet. When they finally brought one home, he created the “Kitty Express” box to drag the cat around the house and entertain her. He even makes train noises while he does it.

This dad told his kid that they would have to take the cat when they left home. Now he’s asking if they really have to take the cat when they leave.
