Have you ever seen an animal behaving a little bit like another animal? A common story is a cat that acts like a dog because it grew up around dogs! What about animals that have borrowed some traits from totally inanimate objects? No?
Well that one is a whole lot less common, but that’s exactly why we’ve gathered this list for you of twenty animals who are not exactly acting like themselves! Enjoy!
1. Enjoyment
This cat looks a little bit like a wise old house elf who is enjoying a rare treat from his wizard master! There’s something so adorable about cats standing on their hind legs, but even more adorable is the look of pure serenity on this cat’s face! Cats normally hate getting a bath but this little dude is just loving it!

2. Halloween costume
This little mouse is looking so spooky for Halloween season! I don’t know how they managed to get such a hilarious picture or how they ever got the mouse in there without it freaking out! But I’m sure glad they did because it makes for a hilarious photo and honestly a little bit of nightmare fuel too!
3. Iron sun
This lovely pup just wanted to feel like the shining star he is, what’s wrong with that? Or maybe he just wanted to rest his head, the thing is pretty large after all! I love that the fence kind of makes him look like some kind of bad ass industrial flower!

4. Hippo mlem
This hippo thinks it’s a dog! Just look at the way it’s looking at the camera with those big puppy dog eyes! It’s big tongue all poked out in an adorable mlem! It’s big ol’ hippo paws (?) placed up on the barrier like that! It’s picture perfect, and about as close as I am comfortable getting to a hippo to boot!
5. They’re just like us
We’ve all been here, okay? Maybe now is not the time to judge some elephants who were just looking for a good time. Did anyone else know you could make corn wine? I know you can make wine out of just about anything but still, this never really registered as a possibility until right now!

6. Tree dog
French bulldogs are already some of the funniest breeds of dog around, but you put them in a bubble bath and that comedy factor just shoots straight up! Using the magic of SSBFX (Special Soap Bubble Effects), this dog transformed into Vin Diesel’s loveable tree being from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, Groot!

7. Gone 2 Coachella
Yes, Peanut 110% deserves to feel like a queen! But the flower crown really does transform her into your average Coachella attendee, through the power of suggestion! In all seriousness, that is one photogenic kitty, and the flower crown only makes her even more photogenic! I just got why all those concert goers wear them!

8. Disney eyes
Okay, there are puppy dog eyes and then there are THIS puppy dog’s eyes! How could you possibly say no to such a face!? He looks more like Puss’n’boots than a regular ol’ puppy dog!
9. Purrberus
Behold, the three-headed guardian of the Greek underworld! You can really tell each head is related considering how well they all blend in with mom! I can’t imagine it would super terrifying to have this adorable monstrosity chasing you at night, but I would probably still run away anyway, things with three heads really freak me out!
10. Doggo Manheim-Mannheim-Guerrero-Robinson-Zilberschlag-Hsung-Fonzerelli-McQuack
This is one way to make a muzzle look a whole lot friendlier! But you can really tell that pup ain’t exactly loving her new look! Dogs get embarassed too, okay? And no one wants to look like a duck.
11. Alert!
Someone must have pulled out a bag of cat treats a few blocks away, because this guy is alerted to something! Look at the way he’s standing at attention like a human person! Someone needs to alert this kitty that he’s not supposed to stand like that, otherwise he’ll give the whole plan away!
12. Kangaroo George
Don’t mix cat and kangaroo DNA, people, this is what you get! A cat that can’t stop kicking himself in the face because the Ozzy instinct is just too strong! Poor little George. He’ll figure out that he can’t scratch his ear eventually, right? Either that or he’ll knock himself out pretty soon…

13. Heads-up!
This dog looks like someone just called him out for being a spy from the beach! Oddly enough, none of the otters seem to care at all about this mysterious intruder among their ranks! I guess they made friends, because there are a LOT of them that are totally cool with whatever is going on.
14. Brother?
This pug and this seal look like they’ve both just made a bad joke that DID NOT LAND WELL. They’re the cousins in every family that look and act like twin brothers! Where either of these animals learned to make this face I’ll never know but I’m so happy they did!
15. Clean up on aisle 4
It turns out that huskies will sleep literally anywhere as long as they’re all together I guess! Maybe this family just shares this trait that they learned from watching bees sleep together or something? Honestly my dream is to walk into my kitchen to this every morning, nothing would make me happier.
16. Dogbo?
This dog can go from an aerodynamic bloodhound to a silent stalker, scouting for sport using her seriously sizeable ears! Her dog dad might have been a hunter, but her mom was almost definitely a rabbit with ears that size! If she gets a running start she might even be able to use them to fly!
17. Living mop
Has technology gone too far? I just didn’t want to mop myself anymore, I never meant to crossbreed dogs and mops! Now I have a living mop that always wants love and affection and it’s too cute to deny! I got so much more than I ever bargained for! The pitfalls of science should never be underestimated!
18. Loafin’ around
This cat is really hoping no one notices that one of these things is not like the others. He has that look on like “if I just don’t move and don’t breathe then I’ll blend right in.” And he’s right. It took our team of analysts seven and a half hours to determine which of these loaves was actually a cat with perfect camouflage.
19. Teddy paw
This is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Ever. A tiny teddy bear made out of tiny kitty cat toe beans!? Toe beans are already kind of my favourite things on the planet, (they’re just so DANG CUTE!) but if you draw on an adorable teddy bear face I’m sent over the edge!
20. Little dumplings
And here we have it. Last but certainly not least we have tiny sleeping hamsters that are just totally deflated while they lay down! They’re so cute, I can’t believe they’re even real! They definitely look like tiny, adorably, furry pancakes, or maybe some little dumplings that you’d pick up with some chop sticks before placing them gently in your hands for pettings!
Are they not some of the cutest animals you’ve ever seen? These strange hybrids might throw us for a little bit of a loop but there’s no denying that mop dogs and pancake hamsters are the kinds of mutants that everyone can love! No crazy human/mutant political landscapes to navigate here, unlike a certain Marvel comic universe…
