Mona Kirschner learned from a nearby shelter that three puppies needed a foster home.
She went to Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue and found three puppies left in the shelter.
They asked if she could take all three since they were still too young to be separated, and she agreed to take them home.
The puppies – which she named Soba, Tuna, and Mochi – were clingy babies.
They always wanted to be with their foster mom, like staying on Mona’s lap the entire time she was driving.
But they weren’t only acting like this with Mona; they were clingy with her Great Dane Bu, too.
Bu wasn’t a happy camper when he found out his mom brought home three new puppies.
Mona said her dog wasn’t a fan of the puppies, and it took a while for him to warm up to them.
As puppies, one would expect them always to want to play, and that’s something that Bu didn’t want to do with these three cutie pies.
But Soba, Tuna, and Mochi were determined to make friends with Bu.
They often went out together (not that Bu wanted to) and laid on the grass.
Mona would lie down, and the puppies smother her, but Bu didn’t want anything to do with the three puppies and would prefer to sit alone.
These three fosters also loved following Bu around – much to this Great Dane’s annoyance.
He would get up and walk away from them, but all three would follow wherever he went.
Bu would try to walk away again, but the puppies still followed him. It went on and on.
It was until Day 12 that Mona finally saw Bu warm up to Soba, Tuna, and Mochi.
She saw Bu on the sofa while the puppies cuddled next to him.
His face may seem like he wasn’t enjoying it, but he made no fuss about the situation.
He even allowed one of them to sit on top of him.
Bu soon made friends with them and enjoyed their days while they were together.
It’s as if he can do something about it, right? He might as well give them the love and care they need to cope as rescues.
However, Mona aimed to get them adopted since they were only fostered.
Bu may have warmed up to them, but it wasn’t realistic for her to take all three.
She knew that the only way to give them the best life was for them to get a forever home. And they did.
Soo enough, Mona’s friend wanted to adopt Soba.
Despite the social distancing protocol at that time, you can feel both parties’ warmth and happiness when Mona finally found a forever home for her.
The good thing about a friend adopting her was she could still visit her.
Here’s the bonus: Her friend brought Tuna and Mochi with him back to Staten Island.
He found some kind-hearted people that were perfect parents to Tuna and Mochi.
At least he knew these people, and they lived nearby, so he could arrange a playdate for these siblings whenever they wanted.
