Rescue Dog Hilariously Fails Agility Course

March 14th, 2018

Baron Kratu von Bearbum is one very special dog, and although he might not be the most focused or graceful dog in the world, it’s impossible not to fall in love with him. When you watch his recent performance during the agility course at a dog show – you’ll see why.

Baron Kratu von Bearbum, or ‘Kratu’ for short, recently competed in a dog show’s agility run, and he gave a performance that no one will soon forget.

Four years ago, Kratu was rescued from a very abusive situation by a wonderful rescue organization called Wood Green. It wasn’t long after being rescued that Kratu was adopted by a woman named Tessa Eagle Swan. She heard about Kratu’s terrible past and wanted to do everything she could to give him the life he deserved.

After bringing Kratu home, Tessa realized how loving and caring he was, so it only made sense that he would become a service dog. Not long after that, Kratu also started showing up to local dog shows as an ambassador for rescue dogs.

When it was time for Kratu to compete in the agility run at the Crufts Dog Show, his overly friendly nature made for one of the most memorable performances of all time.

As the video starts, you can see Tessa standing with Kratu, getting ready to complete the course. The big, fluffy dog seems to be obedient as Tessa instructs him to stand still and stay where he’s seated. Kratu listens, however, you can tell that he’s in awe of all the people and noises around him.

The agility course begins and Kratu starts off without a hitch! Tessa guides him over to his first hurdle, and he jumps over it like he’s done it a million times before. So far, so good! Then it’s time to jump over the next hurdle, and this is when things start to take a hilarious turn.

As the Kratu approaches the second hurdle that he needs to jump, he becomes sidetracked by some smells and wanders off without a care in the world.

After making a large circle, trotting along, smelling the showroom’s carpet, Kratu snaps back into it and remembers he’s in a dog show. The funny dog runs back over to his mom and jumps over the hurdle he was supposed to in the first place. You’d think Kratu would be back on track, but the hilarity just continues.

As it’s time to approach the next jump, the friendly dog notices some ladies sitting on chairs that look like they could use a visit. So, Kratu completes the jump and decides to run over to the nice ladies to say hello.

The commentator of the dog show can’t help but chuckle as the rescue dog fails the agility course in the most adorable way possible.

Next in the course comes the “weave;” it is a line of poles or sticks in the ground that a dog needs to weave in and out of, but Kratu, of course, had other plans. Completely distracted by the large crowd cheering him on, Kratu decides to just walk with Tessa alongside the poles instead. She tries to force him in between the poles with a gentle nudge, but he’s just too occupied to pay attention.

The course continues with some tunnels and a few more jumps, Kratu just gets more amused and distracted by the second. Tessa says that he normally can run the course without any problems, but he was just having too much fun that day.

“Kratu is a special dog that is off on a very special mission to raise awareness,” she wrote online. “He is my sunshine and the light of my life.”
