When it comes to raccoons, most people think of them as nuisance animals. Mostly because they’re known for digging through trash. But in all fairness, these adorable creatures are simply looking for something to eat. Hey, when they’re hungry, what do people expect them to do?
Not picky eaters
As for the type of food that raccoons like, well, they’re not all that picky. In their normal habitat, they live on fish, clams, snails, and frogs. But that doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy others things like nuts, vegetables, bread, and eggs. So, people need to be careful when tossing scraps in the trash.
What about fruit?
Yes, you can add fruits to a raccoon’s favorite foods as well. Although they’ll eat just about anything, a lot of them are fond of grapes. In a video that’s now been viewed more than 750,000 times, you get to see a pet raccoon snacking on them. Even better, you get to witness what happens when he runs out.
Enjoying a treat
At the start of the video, you see a cute raccoon. He’s nestled on the couch with the television on in the background. In front of him, a large bowl of grapes. He’s not spoiled or anything.
Not a care in the world
Sitting there, he uses both of his tiny paws to pick up a grape. Then carefully, he brings it to his mouth. One by one, he devours this tasty snack. Just watching him eat is amazing on its own.
Chowing down
After popping a grape in his mouth, this raccoon tilts his head back. If you listen closely, you can hear him smacking away. He’s enjoying every bite. It’s hard not to fall in love with this guy.
Being sneaky
But as the raccoon has his head back, his owner reaches their hand in the bowl. Quickly, she grabs the remaining grapes. Soon, this critter is ready for another. That’s when the video gets even funnier.
Missing fruit
He then gets ready to enjoy another grape but realizes something’s not right. So, he sticks his entire head in the bowl, followed by using his paws as he tries to figure out what happened. At this point, his owner is giggling.
Maybe one more
While still laughing, the raccoon rubs his tiny paws together. It’s so cute that his owner gives in and hands him another grape. He doesn’t hesitate for a second to take it. Like all the others, he pops it in his mouth.
The look on his face is priceless
Even though he has another grape, he keeps looking over at his owner. She must feel bad about her prank because she places yet another one in the bowl. Almost as though to protect it, he places his paws around it so it too doesn’t disappear.
Still going
Boy, does this raccoon ever love grapes. Between his glances and the smacking, the video is too cute for words. It’s exciting to see how these animals handle their food, something most people never get the opportunity to witness in person.
