Trust is not something that is easily gained; you must work hard for it to receive other’s trust. Trusting someone means that you could climb your way up to the top of the ladder with confidence in whoever is supporting you from below. Once you have that strong trust with someone, you could rely on them fully to catch you when you fall.
Even your pets need someone they could trust.
Perhaps you have seen animals that are closer to their fur moms, or maybe the other way around, and you are wondering why that is. But simply feeding them and letting them sleep on their beds does not mean they trust you completely. Maybe by showing that you truly care and love them, they will then give a hundred percent of their affection as well as their trust in you.
This man had the strangest idea of knowing whether his pup trusts him or not
Rocky, an adorable French bulldog puppy, was living with his fur-dad Peter Valko in their home at Sala, Slovakia. It was 2014, and Rocky was at least a couple of months old when Valko had him.
One day, Valko decided to put Rocky into a trust test by placing him on the couch, which is still a bit steep for Rocky. It was his way of trying to get Rocky to trust him as his loving parent.
This is the first time that this puppy learned to trust his dad.
For the first few seconds, Rocky just laid down watching his dad throwing gestures, urging him to come to him. Valko did not give up until finally, the dog regained his energy to stand up. The Frenchie slowly approached the edge where he sees his father offering his arms for him.
He knew that his dad wants him to jump onto him, although he seems a bit hesitant obviously because of the fear of falling on the hard floor. Rocky tapped his front legs on the edge as if he was telling his dad “he couldn’t do it.” However, when he finally gained the courage to jump, Valko then caught him safe and sound.
There is no hesitation left the second time around.
After catching Rocky, Valko praised him for a job well done. Although, it seemed that his dad wants to do it with him one more time. This time, however, Rocky already trusts his dad enough that when he was placed down the second time on the couch, he immediately ran and confidently jumped towards his arms. There was no hesitation anymore, and Rocky knows well enough that his dad will not fail in catching him.
These two have come a long way since then.
It is heart-melting to see how the first time he decided to believe in his dad, was probably also the last time he doubted him. Since that little “trust test” that Valko and Rocky had, has paved way for a stronger bond between them. They accumulated plenty of happy memories together, and Valko immortalized them by posting them on several social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter.
